No, it was an accident. Her and a few friends were having a game of touch football on the shoulder and she stepped out in front of the moving tractor trailer. Ooops. Last time I checked, if you walk out onto the highway and "step in front of the truck" you are trying to die. Oh well, this is the human race's version of survival of the fittest. Look at it this way, we are one person stronger right now.

Again, if you are going to kill yourself, why must you involve an innocent passerby...now this trucker must deal with this the rest of his life...how sad.

So sad! From what is written, it does make one wonder if it was suicide...

And not just the trucker...my husband went out for a summernight motorcycle ride and took 78 home. He said he saw the scene before they were able to cover her. All he could say was, "Someone walked in front of a truck on 78. There were sneakers." Literally. He is STILL shaken this morning. I can only pray for my husband and all those who were affected by the horrific scene. We must be so thankful for the police and rescue teams able to handle these situations.

Gross - I feel awful for your husband...that image is something that won't be forgotten.
I agree that if you are going to end your own life, don't be so selfish as to involve an innocent party. Poor guy.

Great come back! I have no sympathy for someone who takes their own life and even worse involve innocent people.

My point was that he was in such shock over what he had seen that "sneakers" was pretty much all he'd say. Also, I had no idea how close he was. Sometimes we see things without deliberately trying to; if she were laying in the road as he passed, it was unavoidable. You missed my point and judged. It is a sad and horrific situation either way.

I know this person and you people should all be ashamed of yourselves for poking fun at her. I pray that her daughter doesn't read the idiotic comments you people have made.

You're an idiot. Be thankful you never felt this woman's pain yet. She obviously saw chasing false hopes and $$$ is pointless and maybe her heart broke for the last time.

I feel for your husband. Friend of ours also saw the scene before she was covered and is equally upset. Most people who post here seem to have nothing better to do.

My wife and I drove by westbound as they were putting her body into the bodybag. My prayers to her family and to the truck driver.

Yes....I am sure that's exactly what she was thinking about most when she decided this was the best way to end her suffering. Every parent who is non-suicidal would never do anything to themself or to others that could affect their children. Suicidal people are different, period. Just try and think in your head for a moment how bad she must have been feeling to actually do what she did. My brain can't even seem to process the desire of wanting to do that...even if I were in severe pain.
