I am sorry for the loss, but people fly off RT. 100 onto 78 without even slowing down all the time.

My condolences to Daniel Betz's family and friends. Also, my sympathies to the truck driver and responders :(

Did he manage to not see the tractor-trailer? Or did he try to race down the entrance ramp, thinking he could pass the truck and cut in front of it?

Well, it was a 62 yo on a GoldWing, not exactly the daredevil type.(but you never know)

Deepest condolences to the family and friends of the man. I also hope the trucker isn't shaken up too bad from this.

My bet is that he possibly slid on the wet pavement when coming around the turn. There could've been some oil or anti-freeze on the pavement.

It was raining. It was a 62-year old man on a Goldwing. I would HIGHLY doubt that he was flying down the ramp to cut off the truck.

I would put my money on someone cutting the motorcycle driver off, causing him to swerve into the truck.

well, for one thing, danny has ridden motorcycles for years - and he was able to do that by driving carefully. most cages (aka - cars) don't even know when a motorcycle is near them and regularly veer into a motorcycle's path.

and if you will read some of the other articles, the roads were wet. most likely he slid into this truck. i am SURE that he saw the truck - and SURE that he didn't try to speed up to get around it.

please get the facts straight before posting something. his wife, parents, siblings, childen and grand children may read this and have enough to go through without negative/false things like this posted. R.I.P. Danny. You will be missed!!!!

The best bet is for the family to NOT read any of the comments in here. You can lay bet that soon enough, you will be reading from the people who are only concerned with the rider wearing a helmet.

Deepest condolences. It's always heartbreaking to hear of a seasoned rider down like this.

Correction - always heartbreaking no matter who, but more unexpected when the person is a seasoned rider.(I know that's what you meant, Amused One.)

Sounds to me like the cycle entered a clear lane and the truck switched from his lane onto the cycle.(some bastied trucker almost nailed me like that the other day....)( he saw me and knew it)...

Just because that almost happened to you doesn't mean that's what happened in this case. I just don't understand how you can come up with that hypothesis from the information listed?

Do you want to add anything intelligent to this comment section, or are you here merely to troll? Three comments, and all three are idiotic drivel. Guess you don't have anything better to do than to make stupid comments, eh?

And, to please you, bikers DO have cars. A lot of the bikers out there are also the SAFEST car drivers. While riding a motorcycle, we have to be extra attentive to our surroundings (due to idiots like you wanting to run us over). When in our cars, that attention is still working.

Grow up and learn some things before making a comment that has you sounding like the immature a$$ that you are...
