"I say bitter because the Lehigh Valley already lost a Damon's when there was one on Airport Road in Hanover Township, Lehigh County."

If we had two Damon's in high-traffic locations, and we didn't care enough to support them, then maybe the loss isn't bitter at all.
They came; they didn't cut the mustard; they split.
What's bitter about that?

And what's with comparing the loss of Daro's III to the Baltimore Colts?
Scott Kraus did that, like, five days ago.
Are you guys so lazy that you just swipe each other's little witticisms?

Hey Forgy!
Speak for yourself. I happened to like Damon's and find it hard that I have to drive so far just to get to one now. That makes me one of the bitter ones right? Also stop talking in mass statements when you speak for one person, just like me. Remember you don't speak for everybody. Also I happen to like this columnist better than the ones in the past and the Baltimore line was good and i dont care if it has been used already.

I think a gas station at the Giant on MacArthur would do very well. That mall is always hopping and it would be much easier to get in and out of that gas station then the Valero up the street and you have to up to the turn around to go to the gas station on the other side of the road.

Is Saylors Diner the place that AutoZone bought?

I thought it was the other place (can't recall the name) on the side street --- the place that's now becoming TC Salon/Day Spa.

Can anyone clarify?

Saylor's is the restaurant that is right next to the Hess Gas Station at 19th and Tilghman, this is the first spot that Auto Zone was looking into. Then they tried to acquire the Shanty Restaurant which is right down the block from Saylor's which is still on 19th Street. Hopefully this helps.

The truth speaks for itself.
Damon's was here maybe five years, had two good locations and didn't stick at either one.
They might have had a few fans, but their overall lack of success makes it clear that the greater Lehigh Valley didn't care about them.

In the end, you're the one speaking for yourself; my opinion is a lot closer to what most people in the Valley think.
If it wasn't, Damon's would still be open.

Thanks Amanda!!!
"Shanty", that's the one I recalled.

So as far as we know, the "Shanty" will become the new "Spa", ala Frank Shipman, and the Diner will remain a "diner", or something better.

It all works well for me !!!

Thanks Again!

I'm not going to argue with shadow commenter named Forgy. Truth be told maybe you're just a vegeterian and hated Damon's for that. Unless you take a poll of the "greater lehigh valley" area as you mention, you ONLY speak for yourself. When you get done taking that poll be sure to let us know the TRUE take of the area's issue with Damon's. Also you dont know if the franchise had financial problems that went beyond just customer flow. Or do you?

You were doing well until you got to this line, then you took a wrong turn into Crazyville. Although, Ty's style has gotten better IMHO, it's still doesn't hold a candle to his predecessors.

But like I said, IMHO... and everyone knows about how opinions are like as-, er, rectums, everyone has one.

Damon's was just another generic restaurant that didn't really have anything unique to offer. Wasn't good, wasn't bad, just meh.

Exactly how I would describe Lone Star, Texas Roadhouse, Pickles,....

Of the chains, Outback is good.

Damon's did not serve the customer. I went to the airport road Damon's and was very bad. I guess the managers did not know how a true steak place should be.

I used to like the Outback, but the quality dropped over the last few years. I prefer Bonefish, even if it is the same company that owns the Outback.

Bonefish is great.

I think Outback has maintained quality. One thing though: I ordered the "curbside takeout" there once. Everything was ice-cold in the five minutes it took me to get it home.

Damon's beer prices were higher than tha Holiday Inn with a band playing. A boring menu with high beer prices = failure. I have been to Florence and their prices are much better and their food is excellent. I have been there twice and have been pleasantly suprised each time. The bar tenders could certainly use more experience though.
