Located within the confines the Flushing section of the New York City borough of Queens is the historic National Guard armory. The impressive structure consists of a two-story, building with an attached gable-roofed drill shed, spanning an open space of 11,400 square feet. Both sections are built of load bearing brick walls sitting on a brownstone foundation. Throughout the armory's history it has been used for the National Guard, as well as it's currently function as the base of operations for the New York City Police Department's Queens North Task Force.
Possibly taking a lesson from their daunting defensive resident, the Flushing, NY area seems to be adding to their security standards as well, through the installation of home security systems.
