I went to Cuba Libre last night and the best word for the experience was "disappointment". The atmosphere was as bland as the food. They had three television sets playing. They had no special drink menus or offerings. The meals consisted of an entree, with a side of white rice and a bowl of black beans. If you felt you could handle it, they would mix the white rice with the black beans. I ordered something described as zesty: shredded beef with onions and peppers in a red wine sauce. BLAH. If I want to drink Huber's wine, watch television and eat rice and canned beans with some plain shredded beef, I will stay home.

My wife and I really enjoyed our meal at Cuba Libre. We ordered take-out. The food was excellent! The pricing was a little high, though. If you want something different, it's a great place to go. I have recommended this restaurant to all of my friends. The only thing I wish they offered is a Cuban sandwich all day long.

My wife and myself and another couple went to this restaurant and was very unhappy with the food. My wife had ordered the oven roasted pork and she could not even eat it. It had a very strong taste of vingar that would make your eyes go crossed. This was our first visit and definately our last visit. Everyone in our party ordered something different so we could try different entrees. One of us ordered the Grouper that tasted very fishy and was very strong. The waitress asked us how our meal was and we told her we couldn't eat the oven roasted pork and everyone in our party couldn't eat it either, she went and got the chef (owner) and before she got to our table she was very rude and loud with us and made a scene. We did eat the other three entrees and paid for our food and tipped the waitress. We didn't want our meal comped we were asked our opinion by our waitress and we told the truth and for that we were treated very very poorly. And on top of that her son (manager) followed us outside yelling obsenties with the doors open in front of the other patrons and children. This was very unprofessional and puts a bad name in our community. (Quotes were made that she served several celebritys) our question is why is serving in Floyds Knobs, Indiana.

I have visited Cuba Libre many times and the food and the service was great. I have experanced the fish , my wife the pork, my friends the brased beef, my children had the chicken strips and burger. We all enjoyed everything. I recommend all my friends and family to eat there.

I went to Cuba Libre and my family and I were happy with everything. Why do some other people try to say things like the first buisness owner did. i had the fish and it was great. Why are there people in this world like that.

I had dinner two days ago. I had some drinks and dinner. The drinks are better priced than Tumbleweed's. They offer many things for everyone. if you want to have a great tasting drink go to Cuba Libre. If you want to have something that has to flavor go to Tumbleweed.

I was in the restaurant when this incident occured. I was with my 2 small children--husband--and his parents. I saw the 2 couples dining and even noticed that they had paid their server when this woman (I presume it was the cook) came storming out of the kitchen and proceded to get very loud with these people who all looked shocked. I could not hear their conversation but it did not look pleasant. When they tried to leave a man who was at the bar followed them out and we could hear him cursing at these people--very loudly. He was crude and vulgar and we had our parents and kids with us who heard everything. Most unprofessional and we will not be going back there.

Please read the post that replied to my post. They were there and experienced it. The staff acted inappropriately not us.

The best I can say about my dining experience at Cuba Lubre is that I will never have to go back. The four of us spent over $100 for unedible items and were then accosted verbally by both the cook and the manager. The cook took great pride in telling us she was a 5th generation Cuban Cook (you would think she would have gotten it right by now) and that she has served celebrities all over (well I'm not Lassie and her food wasn't even fit for animals) We didn't request a refund---we didn't ask for our dinner to be compted--- we didn't complain to anyone about the food--we just paid our tab and our plates went back to the kitchen full (this was when the cook came barrelling out of the kitchen yelling that we don't know good food when we taste it. We were just trying to leave and the manager followed us all the way to our vehicle using vulgar obscene language----was the strangest dining experience I have ever had (and I have been living with a Louisville Outlaw for the past 20 years and I know strange)

Forgetting about the food being unedible---being cursed at by the owners in front of families with children is totally inexcusable.

CUBAN FOOD IS NOT "SPICY" LIKE YOU TEX MEX FOOD THAT PASSES FOR MEXICAN FOOD AROUND HERE. MOST CUBAN FOOD IS SERVED WITH A SIDE OF RICE AND BLACK BEANS. MAYBE YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE A BIT OF RESEARCH ON CUBAN FOOD BEFORE YOU WENT.

I was surprised that the waitress didn't know enough spanish to take my order. The appetizer, freed green plantains, tasted like cardboard with melted cheese on top. My wife had the pork with a flavorful touch of lime. I had the camarones enchiladas. Both were tasty but overpriced.

i have gone to cuba libre a couple times; once at lunch and then with my family at supper. we all had a great experience and the food was as expected- CUBAN. People need to research into a ethnic food choice before going to a restaurant to eat. I hope they will reopen after their recent fire.
