When all said and done, this unfortunate man is just another statistic... one of 40,000+ that will be killed on the Nations roads this year. We kill enough people on our roads to match 9-11 every 23 days!
But heaven forbid us banning cell 'phone usage outright... oh no, just the school zones will be fine... spineless politicians!

Absolutely! This country has HUGE problems with DWI's. Age is not an issue here, those country's where 18yr olds can drink don't have half the DWI cases we do.

This is an inherent problem that leads to hundreds of deaths like this every year!!

I dare say some Defense Lawyer will be chasing this case for the $$$, blood on their hands!!

I miss my best friend everyday. I think those of you that have mean things to say should be considerate to those people who lost a son, grandson, cousin, brother and friend.

FORTY THOUSAND +

That's how many are killed on U.S. roads annually by whatever means.

Joseph is sadly another statistic.

Driving standards are poor, courtesy on the road... what courtesy. Talking on cell 'phones, eating your fat burgers.. whatever....

Approx 120 people A DAY are killed.... It equates to 9-11 every 23 days... we invaded Iraq on the back of that...

Road deaths? Nothing is done.

Joseph... Rest in Peace

I happen to know Lauren very well and I am not taking up for this situation but I think you all need to stop and look at the situation. Yes they said there was drinking involved.. but who knows how much. WHO WALKS DOWN THE MIDDLE OF A FREEWAY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WHEN IT IS PITCH DARK. Yah she was under age.. but if she was 21 would you all be yelling? What if she swirved to miss a dog would you all be yelling? If she was soooo drunk that she couldn't function to swirve and miss him that is a different story but I don't think this is the case.. she just couldn't see him.

He was walking in the middle of the road! yes a tradgedy but still THE MIDDLE OF A 55 MILE AN HOUR HIGHWAY what is that a recipt for? DISASTER. we need to take control of our own lives before we expect other to do this for us... and as for you comments on her, you as an individual can know God will judge you, just you and HIM worry about that...thats all point blank period move on...

Seriously are you people saying THE PERSON WHO GOT KILLED FOR NO REASON IS NOT A VICTIM? Seriously, you guys are being real...IDIOTS. Imagine if YOUR loved one got struck by a car and KILLED? Just by walking along a SUBURBAN ROAD? Cars are supposed to STAY ON THE ROAD, so even if there wasn't a sidewalk - THE PERSON WHO DIED IS A VICTIM! Cars stay on the road, wow, who would have thought of that...maybe a 15 year old teenager...gee.

We have greenbelts and sidewalks out the yahoo. Just because the majority of the people who complain about wanting to walk/ride in the street don't realize they are elitists, does not mean the citizens of Flower Mound should pamper the little spoiled brats with bike lanes, etc. Get on a sidewalk like all the rest of us brainiacks!

Daily Horoscope for December 17

Taurus

Catch up with the chores today, especially if you've got a long list of them and you want to get through them all before Christmas. You're feeling nicely efficient without wanting to work yourself into the ground, so carry on at a steady pace. A few well-chosen words in a certain person's ear will be more effective than a lengthy conversation at other times.
