Mr Lee does a good job and represents his Ward well.

Tim does good job, has ward meetings. At the council meetings, he is the voice of reason. Gets grade A. He answers email and his phone.
He knows the issues and residents of Ward 1

I saw this segment on Topix today about Councilman Lee's performance. Although I hesitate to compliment Mr. Lee because by doing so my comments indicate a separation from the other eight councilmemebers. I have observed for many years the actions taken by the City Council. I myself have appeared before the City Council, speaking and commenting on the issues that concern my community. For the most part, all the councilmembers bring to City a broad range of knowledge and experiences. Have I always agreed witht the City Council? NO! But I try to understand the "why" and the responsibility of being one of nine in a legislative position. I had considered running for public office but I felt that I do not have the ability. The ability to understand the "why" and accept "why" because I would ask "why not"! So getting back to the question, is he? Mr. Lee is! Long answer for a short question. Maybe I should strike my name and use an alias. Anyway, my question back to "responsible" is attend the council meeting on Monday nights 2nd and 4th Mondays @7:30PM and see for yourself. This is your community...make it yours. John C. Engelmeyer, just a private citizen.

I have a hard time forgetting the years that Lee was Lowerys lapdog before he started growing a small set.

He has grown more than "a small set". He pulled away from Lowery many years ago, unlike some of the other labor stooges.

By many years you must mean ONE year. The last year Loggerhead Lowery was in office. I don't consider that a brave soul.

If you want to find out who the big and the brave and the smart and the wise, you should attend the budget review process , tomorrow in city hall council chambers beginning at 9 am

The mayor is presenting a 2013 budget that is roughly 1.2 million over 2012 on the expense side with declining revenue income. He is "borrowing" the money from the city reserve funds.

I certainly hope some of the council St least ask the question: How do we keep spending more than we bring in?

Someone has to stand up and represent taxpayers.

Left unchallenged is the same as giving approval.

The real question is how "Cook The Books McDaniel's" keeps his license. Hope Lees "set" has grown bigger. Just can't forget him defending the last mayor when it was evident that he was so mentally challenged Sorry can't attend .. have to feed my family.

No cooking the books. Don't have too. It is the mayors budget, he prepares and presents to council. Council accepts or rejects.
Florissant required by ordinance to have balanced budget. So when it is out of whack, they borrow from reserve to balance.
Reserve is dropping and borrowed funds aren't required to be put back.

To purposely offer a budget that is spending more than it takes in is not responsible

I wish there is an opportunity to have a town hall meeting (not a bitch session) to discuss your concerns. Your comment about the budget and its presentation is correct. And if the City Council passes am amended budget, the Mayor can VETO it and then I believe takes a SUPER majority to override his VETO. The Charter is very interesting in todays governmental enviromental.

Mr. Lee made an opening statement at the Budget meeting on Saturday concerning his request for infomration from the Administration (Mayor). His questions were appropriate but at times I felt that a followup question was necessary but I believe I understood his point. His analysis and detail to exchange of information by the Department Heads were benffical to me listening. I probably would have asked more questions but it was after all the City Council's work session. NOT FOR PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT!

I have lived in ward 1 for over 30 years, and Tim Lee has always been responsive when I have called or had a problem or question. I worried during some of the lowery years that he might have to grow some, but his record showes that he has. He has knowledge, experiance and does his homework. I just got a postcard in the mail and he is having a town hall meeting on Nov 1. If you have any problems or issues, go to the meeting and give him a chance. I would have liked to hear his opening statement, but had to work. Too bad they don't put them on cable.

I was unaware of his ward meeting. I will be present tonite at the Council Meeting. I am from Ward 7, Jackie Pagano, and I will ask Mr. Lee if I may attend to listen to the citizens within his ward. The positive and negative issues concerning our community. I will forward to this opportunity.
