Used to dine at Pizza Hut on Lindbergh(when they had good pizza cooked in a real oven)in the early 70`s. I remember you could sit and look out the window at a pet cemetery while eating. Funny little grave markers. Being little guys at the time,my brother and I thought that was pretty neat.

So I guess this is technically Dellwood, but does anyone remember where the old Peaches Records store was located on West Florissant?

At the southwest corner of the intersection of Chambers and West Florissant in a building that was a grocery store in the early 60s -- possibly Bettendorfs.

It was Three Pigs BBQ first. Then MBM for a while and finally A & M BBQ until it closed. Really miss it, it was very good.

The original owner of Three Pigs Barbecue is a very distinguished looking grey haired man who works part time at the Flor. golf course. His name is Jack. Stop in some time when he is there, pay him a complement. He likes to talk about the old days. More importantly, he likes to be remembered from old fans, tell him Mark B sent you.

At Cross Keys maybe 20 or 25 years ago there used to be a restaurant in the building now occupied by Arby's. For a while they specialized in having a soup & salad bar. I'm thinking it might have been a Rax Roast Beef. Can anyone confirm or correct?

Sealy- no, Kmart is no longer at crosskeys but they're just across the road on the opposite corner of Lindbergh & New Halls Ferry at the Flower Valley Shopping Center.

Kmart was never at Cross Keys Shopping Center. It has always been at Flower Valley. It never moved

Cross Keys is the name of the area, the intersection, not just the plaza

Lindbergh,( the old hwy 140) and
Halls Ferry where the two main roads.
"Key" roads. They meet (cross),
Hence the name.

When you talk about across the street from Steak & Shake I'm thinking about VFW dance run by Pop Powers. the Wreck Lounge and was it Fee Fee road that cut thru behind Airport Lumber to Washington?
I watched Fred Vorce wrestle a bear in the parking lot of the VFW. Some Place Else was the Disco bar
and Charlie was the manager at SteaknShake.
Site Station, SnowCap, St.Johns Liquor next to SteaknShake & a car wash next to that. A pet cemetary on the other side. Walgrens wa Katz.

Loved the wrestling bear. I think that was Valley Ford at the time.

I REMEMBER ON WEEKENDS CRUISING UP AND DOWN BACK AND FORTH FROM STEAK N SHAKE PAST 905 LIQUOR, PAST WHOPPER (BURGER KING) SHAKEYS PIZZA STOPPING IN AT ALOHA ROLLER RINK.

SPEAKING OF SNO CAP DRIVE IN MR.H'S DAUGHTER USED TO SKATE AT ALOHAS EVERY WEEKEND AND HE WAS THERE KEEPING A REAL CLOSE EYE ON HER.

AFTER A COUPLE HOURS YOU WOULD HEAD ON TO "CIRCLE" STEAK N SHAKE THEN ON DOWN TO "HALL STREET".

AFTER A FEW HOURS DRAG RACING AND OUT RUNNING THE COPS YOU WOULD COME HOME REST UP AND GET READY TO DO IT AGAIN.

GOD KNOWS THAT WAS A BETTER TIME, GAS WAS CHEAP AND GIRLS WERE GIRLS OH WELL IT'S GREAT TO BE ABLE TO REMEMBER "THE GOOD OLD DAYS"
HEY ALL YOU FELLOW COMETS HAVE A GREAT LIFE.

I sold Sunday papers on the corner of Florrisant Road and Hwy 66 (Dunn Road). The Tom Boy Store came to Dunn road from Ferguson then moved from Dunn Rd. to Florssaint & St. Anthony then to Washington & St.Anthony. Many may remember another place on Dunn Rd & the T rolls, Bag of Chicken.
Further up Dunn Road between Wachington & Grandview there was a driving range owned by McCluer gym teacher, baseball coach Ed Tschannon. Another teacher/coach operated an ice cream store located between Londoff and Washington. There was a pool parlor in Grandview owned by Blackie. He was a stand up gentleman that was always good to us kids. Blackie Laseier (?) was a champion player in his own right. Minnisota Fats, Willy Masconi and other top players were visitorsto his place.
Boy does this thread bring back some memories!
