Letter from Florissant

Often times you see a lot of complaints about our Mayor and Florissant. I can't say that I am a big fan of Mayor Lowery, but feel I must give him and our police department praise. I received a letter this afternoon stating that a house in our neighborhood has been under surveillance for narcotics distribution and stolen goods. The letter was to let us know they have arrested these people in the home. Makes you feel quite a bit better to know that the city was on top of this problem.

Did you know the people living in the house? Did you see high traffic coming from the house?

No I did not know what was going on. Because I am a bit nosy, I was surprised I didn't know what was going on. But if your wondering would I have called on them, yes I would have. I don't hesitate to call the police even if I am unsure of something. Of course this house more down the street from me than a close neighbor.

The "City" was not on top of this one...it was the police department. Unless of course you saw some of the leased cars of the city officials out there doing surveillance.
Credit where credit is due. But don't worry, Lowery will take credit when he makes public statements about how he and the police are fighting crime.

Good job officers on the drug arrest. Oh by the way the city wants you to give back 3% of your pay. Keep up the good work. Maybe the criminals will cut back on crime 3%.

Yes, we have a great police department. Virtue may be its own reward; but it doesn't feed families. Our finest need the pay they deserve.

You are correct I made an error in my statement. I was thanking the Mayor for seeing to it that we got the information of happenings in our neighborhood. However it was the wonderful work of our police department. I greatly appreciate all the hard work they put into this drug bust. I also agree that the 3% pay cut is ridiculous!
