Was anyone besides me horrified and disgusted by Lowery's newest ploy as described in the paper today? He's going to issue certificates of appreciation from the city to all veterans...while he's working hard to take away the freedoms they fought for, like free speech. Man, this guy is so transparent.
I heard some vets came out against it, etc., so I guess he's just prepping for the election. Hope Podleski, who is a veteran, will use this to illustrate the dishonesty and hypocrisy.
The "certificates of appreciation" is a repeat - very similar release was done a while back 9 months to a year ago maybe... I know for sure this is not a NEW thing - I'm sure Bob just needed a way to make sure his name was in the paper this week.

All politicos want favorable press. The deal with the dumping at sunset under the reign of King James the first may dim some of the nostalgia posters have shown for good king James, squire of Jodphur, prince of the northern realm and sovereign of the imperial city of Florissant who reigned over us with wisdom and benevolence for 37 years.

As far as I can tell its a good clean park. The pool is neat. I dont go up there a lot, or live around there but I have friends that lived around there for a while and liked it. Welcome to Florissant, you will enjoy it.

Your about five minutes away from BIGFOOT at your house by Bangert. They have the big ten foot truck that you can see from Lindbergh. You can go there and see the race trucks most of the time, unless they are all out racing. If you like big trucks you'll like that.

On any given Saturday or Sunday you can find a car show around here.

Bangert Park is good. Not only does the county have a library there with LOTS of programs for all ages, but there and 3 playground, horseshoe pits and a walking trail. The pool is closed now, but as a resident you will get a discount for the pool or can purchase a pool pass. Not only that but you are near two of the best ice cream places....Doozles and Fritz's, close to grass tennis courts and the candy store. What a great place to live!!

There is a new addition to the Florissant Parks Foundation website. It discusses the History of Sunset Park.

I find anything historical about Florissant interesting. I hope others do as well.

Joe Desloge (the son) is still alive and well, but not very active. He lives (way) off Shackelford.... about a 1/2 mile north of Sunset Park.
