That's the way it was done when I was a kid, they shut the person up or arrested them. I agree with other posters, the judge had something else to do and it will cost the tax payers unnecessary money to do the mailings and reschedule everyone.

I got a parking ticket a month ago and figured it would be $20 or $30. Hell no,$100 for a parking ticket, fire line not handicaped, how is Florissant in debt charging so much for tickets?
So you parked in a "Fire Lane" that boldly stated "NO PARKING FIRE LANE", but you ignored it figuring you'd get away without being caught parking there. But you figured even if you got ticketed, it would only be a $10 or $20 fine and you could handle that. Then you discovered it was a $100 fine and now you're pissed off at Florissant because you blatantly broke the law. I bet you'll think twice about parking illegally next time.

You're probably fortunate an ambulance or fire truck didn't get called while you were shopping. I saw a car get the windows busted out for parking in front of a fire hydrant and the fire hose run through the car. The police also ticket the car. There's no telling what they would do to a car parked where the firer truck needed to be.

You have no idea where it was or what time it was or any other facts as to the situation, do you know for a fact that it was "BOLDLY STATED" three fire trucks and a couple of ambulance could have parked around my vehicle and would NOT have presented a problem period. Even if the building itself was burning they would not have needed that area, and no hydrant. The area in question is parked in on a DAILY basis, and is a joke. Yes I parked illegaly and had NO problem with paying the fine, but I think $100 is a bit steep. I'm sure that you are the perfect citizen and have NEVER done anything even mildly illegal, not even speed, right. Don't be a hypocite and self rightous until you can HONESTLY say that YOU have never done anything wrong. So why did you post a reply, if you need attention call your mommy.

Did you ever think that they charge so much as a deterrent? If they charged $20 would you do it again? I bet you would. But I bet you won't do it again now that you got caught and know how much it is. And why are you complaining about the price? You did something wrong, so you paid the consequence. No whining

I bet you're one of those asshats I see parked right by the front door of Schnuck's, right on top of the 'fire lane' sign.

They have those markings there for a reason. Wherever those markings are, they are there to keep cars out of the way so that the fire trucks and ambulances have room to maneuver and get as close to the situation as possible when seconds count. If you want to piss and moan about having to pay a high penalty, you certainly can. However, you can easily avoid having to shell out $100 by parking where you should.

I hope they keep record of your $100 fine, and next time fine you a $1000

I've sped before, and got caught, but I didn't go on topix to bitch about it, because I knew I was in the wrong. And just because a business is closed doesn't mean it can't catch on fire. Asshat

I wasn't saying that. I made no allusions to being a saint or any other type of absolute perfect citizen. However, I CAN honestly say that I've never parked in a No-Parking zone, therefore have never received a ticket for doing so. So, I guess in that respect, YES- I am better than you.

Fires don't really care what time it is.

You're the one that seems to be getting all bent out of shape about this. I feel pretty good about myself, and still maintain that you are an asshat.

hypo-
Variant(s): or hyp-
Function: prefix
1 : under : beneath : down
2 : less than normal or normally
3 : in a lower state of oxidation : in a low and usually the lowest position in a series of compounds

cite
Pronunciation:\ˈs īt\
Function: transitive verb
1 : to call upon officially or authoritatively to appear (as before a court)
2 : to quote by way of example, authority, or proof
3 a : to refer to; especially : to mention formally in commendation or praise b : to name in a citation
4 : to bring forward or call to another's attention especially as an example, proof, or precedent

I'm guessing a hypocite might be one who doesn't get enough tickets or summons to appear in court.
