With all of this rain, Ants have become a real problem. That Raid Max "Long Lasting Bug Barrier" is useless against ants. It's main ingredient is Deltamethrin which is useless against most household insects.

This stuff should be taken off the market for false advertising.

none of that residential stuff works very well, you have to spray lots of it, directly on them, you almost have to drown them in it.

Sidewalk chalk? Seriously? I may give that a shot. Having battled with ants for almost the entire 10 years I have lived in my home, I have found Ortho Home Defense Max works pretty well. I spray around the entire foundation of my home every 3 months, and have not been invaded since I've started using it.

I talked to a pest control worker a while back and to my surprise he say to use Windex for ant control. I have no idea if it works or not, I use Ortho home defense max around the foundation of my house and haven't had problems. He also mentioned Spectacide for spiders. Good luck.

Try putting a pic-a-nic basket out in your yard away from your home. I hear that ants flock to those.

I use spectracide spray from the hardware store and it works great. Those greasy little ants/spiders stay outside where they belong.
I just spray the hell out of the foundation...

That just might work but I thought Yogi Bear was the only one drawn to pic-a-nic baskets.

Yes Poo,I've noticed all sort of critters and snakes too.Guess the city put alot out to eat the sewer rats which are plentiful also. What I hate are the "brown Recluse".Does anyone have anything that kills these creepy creatures? I've tried pesticides for spiders and that doesn't do the trick. Any suggestions welcome........

They are hard to kill...use the spectracide and spray a lot of it right where they hide.
People get skeeved about black widows...but Brown Recluses are worse...because they're aggresive.
Man, I saw one that was HUGE...as wide as a tennis ball scampering right at me! scared the living bajesus outta me!

There is something in the chalk they don't like. We found where they were coming in and drew a line there-no more problems and that was about 6 weeks ago...

Brown Recluse are very scarey......I'm thinking about pouring bleach around the house outside to see if it kills them. They can get very large.Had one come up the tub drain.Just about broke my neck trying to get out of the tub.I looked pretty funny with the shower curtain on my head and body!LOL
