You are so right. Has nothing to do with ethnicity, problems where ever you move. The problems are ,what the hell is coming from this administration next? We don't need to worry about the black guy/Latino guy/Asian guy, down the street,we need to worry about what President Emanuel has up his sleeve for us tomorrow. While Obama was marching down Penn Ave in the parade,President Emanuel was busy rescinding Bush's' exec orders, like legal right to carry in federal parks, renewing funds for baby killer clinics, and President Emanuel isn't done yet. If the citizens of this country aren't frightened of this administration, well you should be. Whats next? Well when President Emanuel and his minions,Clinton,Biden,Poo-Lous y,Feenstien et al get it together,we will go the way of Australia,New Zealand and other countries in the past,TURN in YOUR FIREARMS y-all.Be afraid,be very afraid.

In my opinion, for what little that's worth, I don't think it has to do with race. You could have blacks, asians, latinos, or white-trash hoosiers move into a neighborhood and destroy it if they don't aspire to fit in with their surroundings. Too often, it is easier to bring a neighborhood down to a condition that they're used to rather than try to improve themselves and blend in with their new neighbors.

I have a T-shirt also, ever since these T-shirts hit the Delmar market I had one made up, it says

that say NC is dangerous,
thank you for moving
it's a much nicer place"

Seems we have gotten to the point on this thread of trying to assassinate each other with words.

What about the issue? Is white flight still going on or are parents pulling their kids and putting them in private or parochial schools?

There seems to be a growing number of black parents in Hazelwood School District that are sending their kids to North county and non North County private schools particularly in the higher income areas within the district boundaries?

Even they don't want their kids associating with other blacks. If true it speaks volumes.

The population of HSD is much whiter than the racial makeup of the schools would suggest. There must be a huge number of white students going to private schools for this to happen. But then you also have an unknown but very large number of black students illegally pretending to be living in the district so they don't have to go to Jennings and Riverview and who knows where else. HSD looks the other way and so does the state. Only taxpayers care and they don't count for much.

some of us who grew up in FF public schools after 1976, when the district turned more than one-third black, think it's dumb and depressing of white people to move away because the neighborhood, the schools, etc., has gotten blacker. I come back every couple of months and, to my mind, over the years, Florissant has just gotten seedier and seedier, but not because of black people...I'd say because Mayor Lowry and the council are a total joke.

Some neighborhoods have declined, some have held up pretty good. Its the same in any aging working class town. There are trailer parks in St Charles right next to $350K houses and Meechum Park in Kirkwood. There are areas in Ballwin and west county that look just like a lot of Florissant streets.
None of us should judge a town by its worst streets.

I think it is awesome how people get so fired up about what other people do or have. Who cares why anyone moves in and out of any city. There is going to be crime in every city by all walks of life. I am sure some people moved out of flo town because they got scared and there are probably just as many that figured that they would get the highest return on their homes at the time and they could go get something newer and start fresh. There are also some people that see moving as a great business opportunity new jobs in growing areas and maybe they are even closer to work. Florissant developed cross keys shoping center I really dont think too many people are running to Florissant to work at game stop and besides that I have seen and reported someone getting robbed in broad day light at that Qudoba. I have heard of other problems in that shopping center as well. There is no attraction or reason to stay or move to Florissant other than cheap homes. There is no mall the water parks are a joke they dumped money into the civic centers that they will see no big return on. Unless you want to work as a bartender at one of Florissants many fine drinking establishments what career opportunities are there.

I agree who cares. I just want my taxes to go back down to what they were six years ago. Save me a grand or two.
