Pirrones-The pizza is good but they dont serve Italian food the way it should be. They use virtually no spices and most of the food is about as banal as it can get. When you go there for lunch theres usually a wait to get in because the buffet has caused a big increase in their business. Watching the people line up on the buffet line is like watching cows feeding at the trough. So many of the people are obese and should be having salad or if they are starved for carbs a simple order of fries. Rizzos is the best italian restaurant in Flomo by far and without equal. Cannolis at FlorMeadows-Flor Square is ok but its too easy to fill up on the bread/ Cuginos is good as well. Pirrones is judt to plain-its merely ersatz Italian at the best.

Hi pale dago-go up on the sunset trail and spin off a few miles after you do the buffet at Pirrones-you wont feel as guilty then if you feel guilty at all.
The chinese buffet up at cross keys is pretty good. I always felt less guilty when i had a salad and friut on top of the massive quantities of sodium enhanced food I inhaled. I dont think the food the average Chinese person eats in rural china is quite as tasty as up at Cross Keys. I kind of remember when their place was much smaller.

I agree about the food at Pirrone's. The service at Pirrone's can be really slow at times too. Robertos out off Shackleford is also nothing special. Cugino's is pretty good and so is Cannolis. There is no excuse for bad Italian since it is pretty easy to make. Some well made sauces and good ingredients with a little careful assembly. Most people eat jars of store bought pasta sauce over boiled noodles and are happy. How hard can Italian be if you understand how to make a tasty sauce and cook pasta properly.

Have the black pepper cheeseburger at Robertos. Pirrones is about as banal as you can get and the service can be painfully slow if you order off the menu at lunch.
Rizzos is the best Italian restaurant in Flomo.

Why would someone go to an Italian restaurant for a cheeseburger? Picky eaters can get all sorts of non-cuisine dishes at most restaurants. PBJs and hotdogs are on the menu at many restaurants for the picky kids with mom and dad but I will not order one even if it is the best PBJ in town. I want to know how good the restaurant is at making what they claim to make best.

Because no one else has cheeseburgers like they do. Just go ahead and go there and try the black pepper cheeseburger. Only criticism I have of the place is that they have thin french fries and I like thick fries.

Live in old town Florissant just 3 months. The music from the bar across the street on Th, Fri, and Sat is so loud, and it starts around 8:30 and goes to 1am. Then the motorcycles start. Is there anything that can be done? Will calling to complain even help? It wakes my special needs baby often (and me)

Who was there first, you or the bar? Since you say you've only been there for 3 months, I'm going to assume that the bar was there first.

Were you not aware when you moved in that there is a bar in the vicinity? Since your child has special needs, why did you not take into consideration that growing up near a bar might not be very beneficial?

You can call the city or the police to complain, but it's not very likely that a lot will happen.

It is my understanding that business establishments have times when music, outside dining and such things are to end. I believe I know the tavern you are referring to, it has been there for quite a few years. That being so, I am quite sure they are not breaking any laws or other people in the area would have filed complaints long before you moved in.

It is unfortunate for you, but I do have to agree with the poster who asked the questions concerning your knowledge of the area before you decided to move there. Living in Old Town can present several problems for people who do not research the laws concerning grandfather clauses, the mixing of residential and business districts, the upkeep of property and so forth.

Having lived in Old Town for many, many years I always caution people who I meet that are considering buying a home in the area about the many regulations that they might have to deal with.

You can contact City Hall, though they may be able to help you someway. I think calling the police would be a waste of time because I really don't think they are breaking any laws.
