Obama economic plan

Strip incentives for companies to move jobs overseas.A 20 percent income tax credit for companies that choose to bring jobs back to the U.S.

Encourage investment in areas where local plants are closing. With $6 billion in credits, the program would be designed to mitigate job losses by luring new manufacturers into those areas.

Increase domestic energy production

And to stop subsidizing millionaires. If you make more then 250,000 you will pay your fair share of taxes.

So what is Romney's plan???

Ya want people that can't afford to buy a home or a decent car to pay more taxes so the super rich can get another huge tax cut. Increase military spending buy cutting spending on military vets, while most military personals families are on food stamps the military pay isso low.

Those people not paying federal taxes are not out of work people they are people working more then one job making $10 to $20 bucks an hour trying to raise families.

What about them?

How about paying workers fair. CEO pay is out of control. 30 years ago the avg CEO made 10 time what a blue collar worker did today the avg CEO makes 475 times more.

jammercolo,

Obama's plan sounds good but I would like to point out a few problems.

The 20% tax credit is good, but it's only for 2 years and no one wants it because they fear Obama will raise their taxes and to much red tape and regulations to fight.

Investing were local plants have closed is way to risky in an unstable environment were regulations are to strict, remember most large plants spend almost 1 billion dollars just for permits, inspections, etc.

He can't stop subsidizing millionaires because if he did, than the first 2 plans you stated will not work. because those are subsidizing.

As far as Romney's plan, I can even tell you what it is, but I know what I'd do. First I would deregulate all industry as much as possible, I would add a "Relocation" Tax to all American companies that have moved or are going to move overseas if they want to import any goods to the USA.
I would stop making regulations based on Corporation needs, they are designed to destroy competition.

I would get rid of all crony Corporate subsidies.

I'm sure their is tons more we could do but the best thing we can truly do is allow more freedoms and stop being so restrictive on personal freedoms and the government needs to stop acting like a police state.

jammerco,

If we did not have so much overseas competition we could pay people a fair wage, we have to compete against people that make 35 cents an hour.

As far as CEO pay, the Government can not decide how much they make, the board of trustees for a company decides this and in order for us to force CEOs to make less, our Government would have to throw out our Constitution, seize all corporations and run them than we would have Fascism. This is what happened in South Africa, the Government used the Unions to get in power, seized most of the corporations and threw the unions under the bus, so when they go on strike for better wages, the Government shoots them like they did yesterday.

It's a hard road we have to ride on for the next several generations and frankly I don't think there is a thing our Government, no matter who is in charge will do about it.

It has become the People vs. the Government and Government views us as the enemy, today Conservatives are viewed as the enemy, but tomorrow it will be the Liberals and nothing changes.

If you deregulate we would again in short order have rivers that catch fire. Rivers that support no life. Soot covered cities poisoned ground water and worse. Greed knows no bounds.

I work for a large plant we spend NO where near a billion dollars for permits.By a factor of 10 our # one cost is coal.Number two is parts, number three is buying power from others providers. Permits are less then 10% of our cost.

The factory gets the subsidizing not the millionaires.Give subsidizing only to employee owned plants.Or only to plants that pay employee a living wage.

What is happen in South Africa is what happens without regulations. Starting to see the same thing here as greed owners squeeze workers for more.

Look at what verizon wireless is doing to it's union workers. CEO pay, making record profits and demanding its workers take a six-year pay freeze pay more for insurance and employees lose their retirement plans.Over the last few years Verizon federal tax rate was -2.5 percent.

True, GE, BP and most of these Corporations that make billions a year profit pay no taxes, as far as South Africa is concerned, no they didn't deregulate anything, the Government took over just about all industry and shoved the Unions out and now the Unions can not even strike or ask for better wages and no Companies do not pay almost a billion dollars year for permits regulations etc, but they do when they do when they first open. By lessoning regulations and I'm not talking allowing them to pollute or destroy property, i'm talking about stupid things like they did in my Wifes business, for example in the Bathroom during her last inspection at her store, she was fined 2 Grand because the bathroom mirror was 1 inch to low to the sink, the store next to her, a Pawn shop was fined 15 hundred bucks because the phone number on his sign was not updated because he just changed it and the sign company had not come out to change it before he was inspected and the kicker is, he is not even required to have his phone number on his store sign, but because he did and the number was wrong, he got fined. One of my old Air Force buds ownes a Window company were he replaces wndshields and install windows in homes, instead of filing the paperwork with the federal government every year like he used to 3 years ago, for all the chemicals and sealents he uses, he now has to do it every week and he spends over 12 hours week just doing government paperwork, when he used to just save his sales slips and log his materials in a log book. and that is just the tip of the iceberg. Get rid of the petty stuff, stream line things and it would help a lot.

Verizon is another example of crony capitalism, Verizon not only hardly pays taxes, they are subsidized by the Federal government and even have a federal exemption for any damage or injuries that occur to people that use their phones, for example if one of their towers emits excess radiation and causes someone that lives near their towers to get Cancer, they are immune to paying or being sued.
Corporate favoritism is what has caused regulations to get out of hand, when a corporation lobby's for a new safety bill or regulation they know their competition can not afford to meet, they pass bills to eliminate any competitors

Think about it, if Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, or Dale Carnage were alive today, they would have invented nothing because government would not have allowed it, so they would have had to move to China to do it.

TOTUS?

65007noogard, you will be expected to begin paying taxes.

Roofie will have a difficult time winning. He hasn't a clue about anything other than being empty-headed.

Imagine if all the middle class just decided to stop paying for the rich and the poor. Perhaps then people would realize who actually pays for America.

I have a question on this issue.

In the Affordable Care Act, now law, there are just over $716B in cuts/savings. That money is shifted to pay for the provisions in "Obamacare" that makes insurance coverage real for everyone in America, so kids and the poor can visit a doctor, which in many cases saves taxpayers thousands per patient on unpaid medical bills, which in turn keeps healthcare costs from rocketing skyward, which helps strengthen the economy as well as makes our nation healthier.

In the Romney-Ryan plan there are cuts/savings of almost $800B from Medicare and Medicaid.

What do they spend that money on? You know,..... what do we get?

Oh!!

I have a follow up question, if I'm allowed 2.

The cuts/savings in Medicare that are connected to Obamacare come from slashing insurance corporate bueracracy, profits, and overcharges by pharmacuetical companys. Also, Medicare Advantage which is a proven BUSH failure will be shutdown because the program merely charges their patients 15% more for coverage that is exactly the same as medicare.

Where do the Romney-Ryan cuts/savings come from?

So basicly, I'm asking 2 questions about the Romney-Ryan plan.

Where are the cuts and where does the money go?

No. I want those that pay absolutely no federal income taxes to pay their fair share, instead of being hypocrites and complaining about how much other people should pay.
