the reasoning for food prices and other things rising so rapidly was the cost of fuel. if that was the case, then why isnt anything else coming down with the cost of fuel. probably because they know it will start going back up soon, most likely not long after the election is over. even heating your home is increasing, and that was also blamed on the cost of oil.

watch the camel jocks cut production way way down, if so, maybe Obama will have balls enought to raise the price of their food imports accordingly maybe $150.00 a bushel for wheat for starters, or just let them eat fried oil sand patties. yum yum..

The why is because minimum wage went up. They have to pay those increased wages somehow so they pass the cost on to the consumer.

they always have a back up excuse. gas prices was top of that list, now its the minimum wage increase. everything is always passed on to the consumer excpet for when "they" get a break like the decrease in gas prices.

Gas is sold just like anything else. It's called supply and demand. If the demand is high (a lot of people are buying gas) and the supply is low, then the price is going to be high. Or if the supply is high and the demand is less than the supply, the price will go down. That's how the price of everything works.

Gas prices had very little to do with supply and demand and alot to do with speculation. Brokers would "speculate" that do to the moon turning on its axis 52 degrees more than normal would cause the whales to migrate farther south would cause disruptions in some such oil refinery. Or some other such nonsence. The oil companies would then raise their prices to follow suite. They already have an excuse so why not. Then it kept happening an happening wah la $4 a gallon. The bubble they were creating finally burst and prices fell. That and I believe the oil companies know within a matter a few year our dependence on their product will be going down hill and they were pushing for their last hurrah.

I've been wondering why lower gas prices haven't affected the prices that were raised because of the same...groceries, services, deliveries, etc. It seems that once prices are increased, they never do go back down.

Just wanted to add that I had googled my question and came upon this site. I'm in Dallas, TX area but originally from Cincy, OH. Mother is from London, KY and I attended both Morehead and Eastern. Just noticed I was on a KY site and thought I'd say hello!

That's because people love money and more means more "Wink" Problem is the economy if the Oil Companies put to tight of a cut in manufacture then it will sky rocket price cause the only people to be able to buy is the rich then the Government will have to give gas vouchers which isn't good limitations on how much gas you can have in a month.

As of prices for Restaurants going down never will it happen to many people are lazy to cook plus. Plus they send out the message which is subliminal saying "I don't want just any burger I want that Wendy's burger." and you do no matter if that burger is $2.00 or $7.00 because you feel you need that burger.

Funny how when gas is up everyone complains but then they fill up their SUV with $165 of gas then feel it's OK to spend $45 dollars on their meal for two at their favorite restaurant. When in theory Gas is way more important then eating $45 dollars If you don't believe me then Then try walking every where for a month and get back to me.
