No because Middleton doesn't have any friends that live nearby to give jobs to!

Mr. Middleton actually lives in Newport and the only district person that is his hire is buying a house in Newport. Thanks Mr. Middleton for living in the community. This is much different than how it has been in the past.

Correct - Doug Cotton was hired by site base council and does live far away. I hope more principals and teachers will follow Mr. Middleton's lead and move into city. I wish site base councils, superintendents and principals were allowed to require that but I am sure it is not allowed.

Dream on, "Jim" - no one needs to suffer in Newport - overpriced East side houses, crap houses on West side. Let people live their own lives and stop trying to impose your crazy wishes on other human beings. There is no evidence that living in the city you work in improves job performance.

Just answering the other rude comments about school leaders not living in Newport. I like knowing the Super lives here in community. Last Super and evidently Board Chair did not. I like it for my kids. Sorry did not mean to offend.

Jim that is the only positive thing I can say about the new super. He's a pretty shady character and honestly was excited when I heard he was moving here, but after the audit of his old district and the culture of distrust he has created in the district I would rather he go back down the road. I mean he is the one who brought his friends (administrators (Tyndall, Lisa, Primary principal), teachers (Ginter and Ginter) from his old stomping ground (Those are the ones I know about). Apparently living in Newport, or anywhere close, is not a priority for him, they just need to bob their head up and down... yesssssss siiiirrrr, yesssss siiiiirrr. I hope things get better

You all might need to check your facts. The primary principal was here before he arrived in Newport. Lisa Parsons is from way down in Eastern Kentucky. The Ginters are from Montgomery County. My child is gifted and had a great year with one of the Ginters. I here the other Ginter is an excellent teacher. The principal hires teachers anyway. That is the law. If people are good does it matter anyway?
Just trying to clear up facts.
I am excited the district and high school passed both audits and seems to be headed in right direction. I have been here awhile and I am glad certain people are unhappy. Tell Survey is good, there is a new commitment to the arts, a commitment to reading, There have been several good newspaper articles. He listens to students as he has student advisory groups. He listens to classified staff as they even have an advisory group. It will be interesting to watch test scores when results come out next year.
etc.
I am sure he is here for remainder of contract I just hope he stays longer. People might as well try to help this district as it has been through tough times.
Just my opinion

You clearly have no clue just how pathetic you have helped the schools to become. Newport is a joke. Passing the audit? What audit are you talking about? You must be sucking up the spin Middy and Missy are blowing up your skirt.

Would you rather they be on welfare for the summer? Remember you're talking about people's livelihood! Their jobs! Unlike you, they count on that income to survive and don't want to feed off the government while still complaining about the high taxes they pay.

Welcome center is closed! There isn't 2 in each school in the summer. You should check facts before commenting

There are 2 secretaries in each building. Fact. The welcome center is open - fact.

When you pay someone for not doing anything that is called welfare. These people have full time jobs and get paid well year round. They get EXTENDED days to do what? They come in late, leave early and do little.

They do not contribute to student learning. This is called UNNECESSARY WASTEFUL SPENDING

As you sit on your but, collecting welfare, complaining about those who work and pay taxes all in an attempt to make yourself look good and others lazy or bad
Bull!
You know the truth! You know the work and improvements happening in Newport which is why you continually start new threads and reply to existing ones in an attempt to undermine the improvements.
When does Newport need to worry? When you shut the f up and stop running your mouth on ths site.
Oh and in return Ill get the ''calm down''take yor meds'
Why? Because you fool have no other response but to deflect! Yes and that's singular because there is only ONE of you.
So deflect away!

Ms. lame. You need to settle down wild pony. Some people need to justify why their kids go to a low performing school. Don't cry big girl. Although the smart parents just send their kids to higher performing schools.
