All their doing is what they love to do build the loudest car/truck and show it off, plus people make tons of money in those competitions so please, stop insulting people and get a life.

I agree with both "OsideCJ" and "a home owner in nhp" I find it hilarious that some bratty, snot nosed rich kid would actually boast about, saying there father bought them a BMW, home owner makes a key point when he mentioned 'the real world is not like that' because when you do get in 'the real world' you'll be on your ass saying to yourself 'where's daddy now?' and I definitely know how it feels 17 years of my life.

Wow it's impossible to post anything in Topix without people getting ugly.
The poor guys just complained about noise at night (seems like a problem anyone could relate to) and he gets such garbage thrown at him.

Ten years ago a man in a neighborhood close to this one got fed up with the drag racing on his street and decided to oil up the road. Later that night a drag racer was killed because of it.

That's what you get when people treat each other like crap.

I hope you douchebags are enjoying the few extra HP you're getting (supposedly) from loud exhaust systems. The rest of us have no respect for you.

I'm sick of getting woken up at 5 AM when the neighbor thug leaves for his grease pit job (2nd job seems to be dealing drugs). He leaves during the hour when I get up to piss and need to go back to sleep, but know I'll be woken up again. Early AM is a critical sleep period, and guess what it does to my own work concentration? Any wonder that these punks are resented all day long?

Most loud-pipers are Harley trash and gang scum of one stripe or another. The only "good" aspect of pipes is that they're somewhat less irritating than boom-stereos, which tend to be in the same vehicles. Yeah, that's music; the sound of a wood-chipper combined with bass that could knock over a bear. Stupid cretins.

Were it not for lawyers protecting criminals' rights, there would be quick solutions to this disruptive BS, facilitated by metal objects of various types.

I've also noticed that many of the guys with loud pipes do NOT truly understand engines, especially how to warm them up. They're always doing 2-minute warm-ups on mild days, revving a cold engine, which is one of the worst things you can do when clearances haven't tightened. At cold-start RPMs their buzz-boxes are even louder than normal and the timing couldn't be worse in the early morning. Worthless scum.

After the lengthy warm-up racket, they zoom off at high speed waking up the rest of the neighborhood. The drive-line and transmission have not had time to warm up, and the engine was warmed-up the wrong way. Any expert will tell you to idle only about 10 seconds on a mild day, then drive off slowly. It brings the engine to working temp. faster and burns off more water. Once oil pressure is achieved there's no reason to sit there annoying the neighbors with an already too-loud engine.

Any wonder these dregs always seem to be working on barely-functional engines? They generally want to make noise and display their low I.Q.s to everyone in earshot. They need to just disappear and bring back some peace to the world.

Believe me, many of us would like to "do something about it" but we, unlike you, are law-abiders who can't resort to the only workable solution; getting selfish scumbags out of the gene pool permanently. Noisy, attention-getting behavior is due to a weakness of the frontal cortex, according to behaviorists. Many lineages have not shed their worst reptilian traits, and they tend to have the largest families because they're too stupid to see that it keeps them down.

As the world gets more and more overpopulated by low-I.Q. vermin, we're being forced into close proximity with this garbage, even in rural areas. It's gotten to the point where you have to be a millionaire to assure peace & quiet in your own home; by isolating it on a hill, etc.

Look up "noise pollution" and you'll see that some people have gone to to extreme measures to combat this evil. Willful noise pollution differs from utilitarian noise (where actual work is accomplished) even though both types are a problem. The deliberate "culture of loud" has already reached critical mass in many districts. Hopefully the good guys will someday take back the "ear-space" from noise terrorists and stress will be reduced to reasonable levels.

Maybe quiet future electric vehicles will solve the problem on some level. It's unlikely that the human aspect will go away soon.
