Are you serious? You must not have kids and if you do, you obviously could careless about them. As a mother it is your job to protect your children to the best of your ability. Sometimes a predator will get to your children no matter how hard you try to protect them but making sex offenders register and posting their address and pictures is a tool to make the public aware of the danger that could be living right next door to them.
Is a drunk driver, Bank robber, home bugler, car thief and a murderer dangerous? Just wondering. Why is it when they serve their time and get out of jail they can go on with there life. But a sex crime is made public. And lots of times the so called sex crime is not near as bad.

Amanda 2 is a stupid person. You make me sick. The world is a scary place for kids and there parents. We-as good people need every tool we can get. If you hurt children for your nasty, twisted pleasure we need to know that.

Because 9 times out of 10 there is a psychological problem in that sex offenders history. Yes drunk drivers and bank robbers, etc are dangerous but these type of criminals don’t stalk and prey on their victims, they don’t groom and spend weeks, months and sometimes longer preparing a child to be molested. Seriously, how many times have we all stupidly drove drunk and could have easily killed someone in the hasty moment? That by no means puts us in the same catagory as a molestor. Many websites list their crimes and how dangerous they are considered to prevent everyone from jumping to a panic, and while I will admit some cases seem pretty innocent and over exaggerated, there are some that are downright sick!

That's a pitiful attempt to dodge the arugment. Read on, then respond with something of merit, if you can.

The consensus of science, based on the 2nd law of thermodynamics and astrophysics, is that the universe is not itself eternal, did indeed have a beginning, and that all matter and energy at one time existed at one point. Then, there was a big bang that propelled it all into motion. And according to astronomers, it's all still moving today.

Newton's law of motion states that bodies at rest stay at rest unless acted upon by an outside force. If the entirety of the universe's matter and energy existed at one point, any outside force would be outside of all matter and energy in the universe. Something outside all matter and energy in the universe is by definition supernatural. Therefore a supernatural force was necessary to act upon the body of matter and energy causing the big bang.

Now, if we want to look at it logically as well, there is a maxim of logic that dictates "ex nihilo nihil fit" which means out of nothing, nothing comes. IOW, things don't simply pop into existence from nothing, rather they are brought into existence by something. Therefore, if the universe did indeed have a beginning as science demands, then there is a logical necessity for a supernatural force or being (a something) to bring it into existence.

So, far from being "sophomoric points" as you hope so you don't have to deal with them, those are solid arugments that the atheist must overcome in order to maintain his position. He does so only by denying science and logic, instead clinging to his atheistic view with nothing but sheer blind faith.

Please put your hallucination drugs away, your post made no sense to me whatsoever and I am sure several will agree. What the hell does anything you said have to do with sex offenders and whether or not they should have to register. I at least made a argument that made somewhat sense

In all honesty....there are people that fit the original posters description and I don't care much for them either. There is a HUGE difference in a good ole' country boy or girl and a person such as he described. I don't know if redneck is the word to use, but whatever it is, it's not appealing at all. I think that there are different perceptions of that word too. For instance: I see LOTS of good ole' country people around here, and I do see rednecks, if that is what that is called......but I don't think that the two should be confused with each other. Another thing: Not everyone that lives in a trailer is trash or a redneck. There are a lot of trailers that are much nicer than some of the homes and apartments around here. In fact, if I had some land.......I would absolutely LOVE to have a trailer at the lake, and you could call me whatever you liked....I could be stress free, sun loving, redneck trailer trash on the weekends and prim and proper yuppy puppy through the week.

AMANDA-

seriously? How can you even say that with a straight face?

A dui is as heinous as child rape? Wow. Where are you from? Because my kids will never even travel through there.

Lets look at the pathology here.

1. Lets say I drink as much as I always do, but this time on an empty stomach. Then I foolishly get behind the wheel of a car and cause an accident. That is a crime. A mistake, but a crime.

2. Lets say I made the "mistake" of sexually molesting a preteen boy or girl. Wait, that is hard to imagine. The "mistake" of forcing a pre-pubescent child into a terrifying and painful encounter that will scar them for the rest of their life. Because that is what we are talking about.

Now lets look at the prosecution.

If I get arrested for A dui, my name is clearly printed in the newspaper and online. I also carry a "ticker" on my permanent record that creates a felony if multiple dui's occur.
If I rape a child, and am convicted of it by a jury of my peers, I am a threat to children. People who rape children are a threat to children, and will always be a threat to children. There is no "mistake" here, it is not even a sexual compulsion, it is a complete psychological misfire that can resurface at any time.

Sorry for the vehemence in my response, but i feel strongly.

The Second Law of Thermodynamics applies only to a closed system. The Universe, our world, our lives, etc., are all open systems. Just so ya' know. ;-)

Good call truth juice. It's sad to think people like Amanda regard something as serious as molestation as though it's no big deal. Sick!

Does anyone else agree with me, that we have become a society obsessed & paranoid about pedophilia , & as such have lost a lot of our traditional family values.
Recently i went to my 8yr old niece's school concert & was disgusted when i was told by the school authorities that i couldn't take any pics either on my mobile phone, or with my camera. All the kids were dressed as animals, & my niece was a donkey.!!
Last month my sister took some film into our local ASDA supermarket to have them developed. When she returned to get them, she was told the manager wanted a word with her. He told her there was 3 pics of her 3yr old daughter naked in the paddling pool in our garden, & they refused to develop them. My sister was left in tears, & was made to feel like a pedo. THAT IS CRAZY.
I have read threads on Topix, where dads are now forbidden to take their young daughters into public toilets or changing rooms. Yet there is nothing wrong with mums taking their young sons into the same facilities. That is ludicrous. I would remind people, that our 2 worst pedophiles in recent history, have both been FEMALE,Myra Hindley & Rose West. Then only recently, 3 FEMALE nursery workers were jailed for child sex crimes.
I remember when we were little, running around outside in just our panties during the summer, & if dad had to bath us, that just meant extra fun splashing about, cos he wasn't as strict as mum.
Yesterday i was chatting with my neighbor, & she said she wouldn't dream of letting her husband bath her kids in case they said something at school, & people thought bad of them. How absolutely wrong is that.!!
Shops have been demonised for selling clothes or underwear because they are " Sexualising children "
Thats rubbish.
Kids have been dressing up in mums & big sisters clothes since time began. If my daughter wants to imitate her big sister by wearing a small bikini, what harm is it doing.
I know that there are a lot of bad people out there, but there always has been, & always will be. I just think that as a society we have become acutely paranoid about pedophiles, & lost all sense of reason & commonsense.
Let parents be parents, & trust them to make their own judgments. We don't need a nanny state telling or rather dictating to us what is right or wrong.
