If it gives them more time in school to learn more, then go for it. But, if it only changes the start and end day with the same amount of time in class, why?

The focus should be on better education in the class rooms, maybe extending the current time each day in school by just a bit would be more beneficial.

I'd rather the schools be able to start a week earlier and be out before Memorial Day weekend. I think the businesses that depend on tourism dollars would benefit more by the kids being out before Memorial Day weekend than a few days in the middle of August.

They will NOT get out earlier, they will start earlier and get out at the same time. More days are being added to balance out the starting week. What movie will they let them watch? That is what they usually do. For Real!

Yeah, no kidding. They will start earlier with nothing really important happening.

You guys need to go to the state website and read about what is going to happen. All public schools in Arkansas will have the choice of starting school on the Monday of the week that Aug 19 falls in. That means that they can start no earlier than Aug 15. Not really going to effect much.
