My friend just told me that her grandaughter was in a beauty pageant today and they put a boy in with the girls! Not only did they do that but her daughter noticed before the pageant started they had all the trophies, ribbons & crowns on a table as they r supposed to be.One catch in my friends grandaughters catogory they had the throphies ribbons & crown ,...But its wasnt a girls crown it was a boys crown!!!HUMMM IT was a girls catogory with 2 girls & a boy, But no girls crown! All the others had crowns for a girl in all the other catogory. Mind u there was only 1 boy. So he should have been in his catogory( With boys) Not girls! Sense there were no boys them he should have won in his catogory. But Carol put him with little girls. Firstly, it was Formal wear, he had on blue jeans shirt & cowboy boots. The others were in formal & my friend pays $$$$ for her grandaughter outfits as do the other parents! Here's the kicker,I was told he won! From what I hear he just stood there! She said she was so shocked that they would do that. The fact that the boys crown was laying there without a girls crown made her realize that he won before he ever got up there! She does this for fun. But if u r going to spend money like she does then you would expect it to be fair & professional. There are rules you go by. My friend goes to pageants ever weekend with her daughter and grandaughter.I told her she should have asked why they were putting a boy in with the girls division which is not allowed! She didnt want to bother. I told her I was gonna say something on Topix. Because when u spend your money u want to be on the up & up! This was not right! She paid for motel, eats outfits, gas! She said just a costly Time & learning experience! But no more!Too many others to go to where they go by the rules.Merry Christmas!By the way I do good comments too when deserved!

Get a life!! Turn the channel from toddlers and tiaras and go do something productive. Pageants are ridiculous.

Excuse me,..To each his own. I did pageants with my three girls when they were young. Two are now very productive professional young women. One is an attonery the other owns a bussiness. My friend always lets me know about her grandbaby's pageants. I do have a life. I am retired, well educated and look to the finer things in life. This is not all people do with their children. These children have a life. What would you suggest when you say get a life? What is it about pageants that bothers some people? Its fun it gives children the ability to be in public to lead & focus. Some people do get carried away. But its like a sport you want to be the best. You want to build confidence. There are so many children who are left alone at home & they have nobody to build that strong mind as they all can have. But because of money & the ability of the parents who have to work to provide or the fact that some just dont care. Now you tell me what you think is wrong with pageants. These kids are very smart, well educated. My friend's grandaughter has everything a child could want & need. As for Toddlers & Tiaras that is just a show. The more they show out the higher the ratings. So people like you who complain the more that watch. Thank You so much from a former Toddler & Tiaras Grand Surpreme winner, My daughter.

I think and hope times have changed for girls. They have more to concern themselves with than their looks. They can travel in the star and become world leaders. I think its time to move on and stop training the girls of today by yesturdays standards.

yesterdays standards,..Im sorry a beauty is a gift. I am for education & I preped my girls for theirfuture. I dont have a problem with the way you think thats ur opinion. I have mine, mine has worked as I said I have 3 educated girls 2 whom r professionals. Not only r they smart but they r beautiful. They get the attention, as I said its a gift.Im not sorry I put them in pageants. I think alot of folks think its not a good thing because, They dont have the time to devote to their child, because they have to work to pay bills. Also it is can get very expensive & some people just dont have it. Pageants give confidents to a child, it builds character. Its that smile that gets u in the front door or that special something when u have several people who r equally smart but its that extra something which sometimes its not being afraid to speak up. Its goes deper than that but it u just dont get it u just will never. Its facts. So I understand how u feel.i wish if u have any children the best at whatever they do. My friend and I happen to like doing with our children and her grandchild.U have a Merry & Safe Xmas Oh u still hyave not said why u think its bad.I would like to know why u would take the time to comment about something u dont like when there r some many others things on here.

Why>>> Because women in general globally have been bought and sold for their looks. Treated like nothing but sex objects because our intelectual contribution is not valued. Beauty pageants are known for encouraging little girls to be sexy or sexual in mannner as well as telling them they need make up to look good. I am glad your girls turned out well educated but they r exceptions to a rule that has adversely affected women around the planet. As for not stating the ovious and what is excepted in general as to the unhealthy aspect of pageants. All I can say is you must live an isolated life and not in touch with mainstream thinking and ideals. I would be horrified if I ever saw a female member of my family in a pageant. Bring the best of tradion forward into the future and leave unhealthy and demeaning traditions in the dusty past. Blessed Be and happy Yule.

I disagree with ur thoughts. but its just the way I feel about it. I do agree there r parents who do go to far. But I know for a fact that some parents do not spend 1hr per day with their child. Because they work or they just dont have the time. So what u r doing with this child is this, No structure, no bonding, no one on one. This child will survive but thats all. I wanted more for my children, they played ball, cheerleading, music, gymnastic and yes, PAGEANTS. Not all pageant go over board, I have never been to one where they exploate sex ever! I think that for some folks who think that way, well that scares me. Anyone who would look at a little girl or boy & relate sex to that is sick. So I dont know what ur watching but this topix has nothing to do with why u like or dislike pageants. Its about a pageant that was not honest & professional.By the way u cant compare children to prositutes or sold as slaves. I dounderstand it happens all over the world. But we r talking about people who have pageants who r reg. with the state lic. who r approved to do these pageants. e r talking about people who do pageants to raise money for the sick or needy or St. Judes, Fire Departments & so on. Most folks r pillars of our community or churchs. Its far from anything sexual. These r beautiful girls & boys who r proud of their looks. Its a good thing & a bonding with parents. Pageant take time money & lots of practce, its not easy its work!It is a teaching.

You are in denial of the ovious. Little girls wearing makeup and wearing dresses that grown women wear when they want to be desirable. It is just plain nasty. Omg let them be children and find another way to bond with your kids. Trying playing catch or take a bike ride with them. Make cookies or watch a movie with them. Bring forth into the future traditions that benefit us spiritually and leave in the past our mistakes and prideful indulgences.
