1. More transparency.

Examples of transparency:

a. Live Feeds from jails and prisons.= no more mysterious inmate deaths.

b. Live Feeds from all the courthouses. All public business put online. Audio, video and written business. No deal is made using public money, or by public employees, without the public being able to watch it on video or read the letters exchanged.

please stop telling the government to put up more cameras; they already watch every move you make anyway; I wonder who the idiot was that suggested putting cameras beside stop lights so the government can mail you a ticket if you run the light; all phone conversations are monitored; anytime you go to a store you are on camera; all schools have cameras in the hallways; and what ever is missed by these, the drones will pick up on fly over; fucking idiot people think this is a good thing.

people use the oft repeated line, "if you're not doing anything wrong, then you don't have to worry." To the people that say this shit, I can't wait until your on the road and can't find a bathroom so you pull off and piss behind a tree and they mail you a ticket for indecent exposure

I didn't say more cameras for the public. I said cameras on our GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES.

Trust me, I hate red light cameras and cameras everywhere like they have in England. I just want the government on record for the rest of us to check out.

Calvin I like the idea of monitoring our government. we should make a law saying if you work for the government, then you can't vote (i.e. state workers cannot vote at state level elections etc.) We should also repeal the 17th amendment. this would take care of term limits and campaign finance reform at the national level.

I agree that government workers shouldn't be allowed to vote. This should include ALL military personnel and veterans as well.

I don't know about military personnel; often they know more about the real story overseas than anyone else. many of those guys hate the government when they return from their service, and the government is afraid of them too, time tested. Hitler started as a subversive in the employ of the Weimar republic to infiltrate the German workers party. the Weimar republic wanted to know which ex-military were going socialist on them. I know one thing: universal suffrage makes voting useless. there needs to be some other qualification to vote other than simply being a citizen. Currently, you can be illiterate and still vote. How can you read the ballot? I guarantee an educated electorate would get government under control. As it is, voting is controlled by television, which is in turn controlled huge multinational corporations, which are in turn controlled by wealthy internationalists. most Americans have never had an original thought in their whole lives. they just mindlessly repeat the same meaningless platitudes spouted by the talking heads on TV.

Repeal the 17th Amendment? Where we elect Senators ourselves, instead of our state legislatures? Talk about corruption. Term limits have nothing to do with that. I don't see how that would take care of either term limits or campaign finance reform.

And I also disagree about government workers voting rights. That would disenfranchise MILLIONS of people. We're all citizens and deserve the right to choose our bosses, ESPECIALLY if we have to work for them.

All that's required is TRANSPARENCY in Government. Every document, every email, every phone call made by a government employee during work hours is available for public viewing instantly. The courthouses are under live feed to the Internet surveillance in every office and courtroom.

Dear Herbert H.

the framers original intent was that the House would represent the people and the senate would represent the states. The 17th amendment removed the states representation and gave it to the uninformed masses, removing a very important check on our Federal government. Plato said long ago that republics decay into democracies which then decay into tyranny (like we have today). Before the 17th amend the amount of money needed to run for senate? ZERO! After? 5 million dollars MINIMUM! This because money is needed for advertising on TV. The 17th amendment removed the senators loyalty from the state and gave it to the media and corporations with big money!! There is your campaign finance reform built right into the constitution (but taken from us by the 17th amend). Terms limits (pre 17th)occur when the appointed senator votes against the interests of the state he represents. The state legislature simply appoints a new senator, hence TERM LIMITS. With the 17th amendment we get guys like Rockefeller that buy the senate seat. Without the 17th amendment, our state legislature would appoint someone who would actually represent us. An examination of the 17th amendment reveals that it was passed in 1913, the same year that the federal reserve act was passed, and the same year the 16th amendment (income tax)was passed. The fed gov't has done nothing but grow and fight foreign wars since then. We are not a democracy!! People forget, we are supposed to be constitutional democratic republic, not a democracy!!

Dear Freedomlover,

Please choose a new name. That's the worst idea I've ever heard. At least we have the mechanism in PLACE which allows us to have direct control over the most powerful organization in the country - the Senate.

We just need ANOTHER Amendment adding term limits - 4 terms for Congressman and 2 terms for Senators.

Dear Dick Nixon:

First of all, the most powerful organization in the country is not the US Senate. The most powerful organization in the country is the Federal Reserve. Ben Bernanke and his backers are the true rulers of the US.

Next, "we" don't have direct control over the senate; the television news media does. Where do you think the average American voter gets all his/her political information from? Let a politician make one politically incorrect statement and watch what the news media does to him/her (see Ron Paul). Have you ever thought about why one of WV's senators (Jay Rockefeller)is from New York? That doesn't seem a bit strange to you? Am I making any sense to you?

Lastly, the 17th amendment is an anomaly; our government was never intended to function with a popularly elected Senate (and it doesn't). Recall Frankin, "we have given you a republic, now the question is 'can you keep it?' The answer is no.

Dick, have you really thought about these things? I mean really, really thought about these things? It doesn't seem like it
