where is the local authorities at when it comes to all the drug deals going down at shoneys? are the cops completely oblivious to whats going on around them? i ate at that place not too long ago and there were people dealing drugs in open view and snorting pills and smoking pot in the parking lot on their breaks! aside from knowing a few of these ppl, you can tell by just looking at those ppl they are junkies! if the cops would do something about it maybe they could get help for their addictions n become productive citizens but the police just let these people nark out each other n its a never ending circle of shit!!

If all there is was druggies and people with hepatitis C why did you eat there in the first place? I think it's one of the best places to take your family to eat. The service is usually good and I have never got sick from the food. I happen to like T-bone Tuesday night, best steak I ever ate. You look at all these fast food places in Braxton County and you will see a few bad people mixed in with the hard working good people but it's every where not just in this County. If your so worried about the people working in a place don't go in there. I'm sure any business serving food would rather you ate at home a little more often. I don't believe your whole family got sick. I think you were looking for a free meal because you ran out of your food stamps.

I agree with you, their whole family did not get sick. There are a few druggies who work there, I did for awhile work there, and found a better job, their main problem is not the workers. most do their job to the best of their abilities. Oh as I heard the other day the owner sold out it is going under new management. So maybe people won't worry about the current workers as a few may not work there after the turn over.

I can tell you from my experience the problem is the workers. The owner Ian sure has no clue what is going on there but I would say he does now.

I know shoneys puts 2 day old food that has set out of the fridge for 2 days on the hot bar. Anna laird is the bar cook and she don't care how old the food is. Just don't get the hot bar everything else is cooked to order

Had the breakfast bar there recently...bad experience. Food was cold. They brought hot food from the kitchen,,,said they would correct the problem. When we went back up to the bar, food was still cold. If this wasn't bad enough, we paid over 25.00 for this lousy meal. Hate to gripe, but come on,,if you want to stay in business,,you have to try just a little harder than this....

For a good experience, go to Summersville Shoney's. We eat there often, even ate there on Christmas Day and have never gotten anything bad, this is since the new ownership. Everything is always fresh and good.

I don't know about the drug and stuff. But we just moved back after being gone for 5 years and we have ate there 3 times. Well no more. The last time there was hair in the mac and cheese the salad and my husband's french fries. When we complained the waiter said the cook was wearing a hair net but that he has long shaggy hair. We won't be back!

Get real, you know there was not hair in that many things. You are just not happy you are not working there anymore. It is a nice place to eat now since the nasty bunch got fired, left or quit.A waiter would not tell you that someone had long shaggy hair. If you are going to lie at least make it sound reasonable.lol

As a chef from BC but now in a major city i will say that the wait staff will 100% blame all their guest issues on the back of house staff. We encourage that. I will shoulder the blame for all my wait staff. Reason being is I take salary while they work for tips. I guarantee that if you visit a restaurant, receive good service, but tip poorly, every employee is made aware and that will determine the quality of service you receive at that restaurant going forward. Ive seen it many times with my own eyes in this place, $2-3 tips. That is blastfamous. If you tipped well, you would get better service because in most cases, the reputation of the clientele determines where the rock star servers go to work. Cafe Cimino, PJ Berrys, Visions are where the best servers are because the clientele of those establishments TIP for great service. You give great service at Shoneys, Waffle Hut (mmmmm i gotta come home n get a roast beef dinner) but the same $2 on the table after cleaning up broken crayons, spilled milk and crackers all over the floor, my give a s@#t meter about your future experience would be dialed wayyyyy down as well

I have never worked there! And there was that much hair it was ridiculous. And the waiter did say that he was trying to save his ass from not getting a tip. I have no reason to lie. I think it sucks the food is good and it's disappointing. We liked eating there and now won't be back

So why didn't you record it and turn them in instead of nothing?
And before anyone says anything- yes I have turned in people and places I've worked for that was doing things like this

I eat there twice a week whole traveling on business. The food is generally good. The wait staff is mostly pleasant(with a couple of exceptions). In my opinion the new management has had a horrible effect on the staff. I have personally witnessed the new manager berating the staff in front of customers. Something like that has a bad effect on morale. Usually it cascades down to the customer.

I eat there on occasion and find the food good and service good. I think the new management has weeded out the druggies and bad help and improved this place.
