I know that animal hoarding is serious, and this lady has broken the law in the past, but,$4.4 million in fines???? Is that correct? That's $100,000 per animal! Well, I guess it will get her attention.

Kim Kappler blatantly disregarded local and state "rules and regulations" and laws in Hendersonville for years with her All Creatures shelter. She just didn't care and acted as though the laws (regarding the animals) did not apply to her.

The charges are x-amount of incidents times x-amount of animals, and the 4.4 million is probably the maximum total. I know that it is extremely unlikely that those fines will ever be collected. This time, though, it sounds as if she will not be let go with a "slap on the wrist" and hopefully as another poster stated above, this will get her attention. She, no matter how "good-hearted" (and that is certainly subjective) is not above the laws which apply to everyone owning animals.

As an animal hoarder, she did much more harm than good for the animals at All Creatures.

I believe it was PETA who helped bring All Creatures into the spotlight and helped close down that awful place. No Kill shelters are simply warehouses for unwanted pets. No animal deserves to be confined for years in filth. The place was sad sad sad. This woman needs to start rescueing beanybabies not live pets.
