If you say he didn't release it: then who was responsible?
1. I did not say that.

2. All electronic communications with city council members are public records.

It appears that the people in these mountains are so ignorant that they are intimidated by a man like Mumpower who is well-educated, intelligent, articulate and not afraid to go out and try to make these drug-infested mountains a better place to live.
Wake up people and see the light!!!
Just ask any APD officer what they think of Mumpower and how his public posturing messed up our relationships with the community and drug informants. His grandstanding and lies have undercut LEO's from many departments and only increased the difficulty we have in managing the drug problem. Ralph C. Mumpower is out for one thing and one thing only, and that's stroking his ego. Don't be suckered by his soft-spoken arrogant articulations.

I am from WNC. I have a college education. I work to build my community up! I am not intimidated by you or anyone else. I don't use drugs and I don't drink. This has always been the best place for me to live. If you don't like it why are you here? You obviously don't know all of us...but you make inflammatory statements about the entire region. I for one am sick of it! Carl Mumpower like all politicians is out for himself. If you want to make this area a better place to live stop b!tching and start working on it!

Managing the drug problem? It has continually gotten worse over the years and little has been done about it. Because someone cares about this problem and what it does to people, don't condemn someone who does care about it. Drugs and gangs have only gotten worse. I would not call that managing the problem.

Congrats ACT! You made the Wall Street Journal "Best of the Web - Bottom Stories of the Day" for the obvious headline to this story!

Drugs? We're not putting out the fire. We've just been pissing on the highest flames for forty years.

You need to be a realist. No one at any level has been successful in reducing the supply or demand. Ralph Mumpower does a disservice to every officer who deals with the ravages of alcohol and drugs everyday by suggesting that they don't care. It's chaos out there and neither he nor you has a clue. The difference between the two of you is that you probably actually do care, while he's just using it for his own personal gain.

Tim Peck, and this article, is wrong about the rules being changed. This sign rule has apparently been in effect in ALL Flat Rock forums in the past. It was brought up in an e-mail to all the candidates and Mumpower threw a hissy fit and he and his minions started screaming about a conspiracy against him.

I completely disagree with you. I believe that he has seen the problems that are caused as a result of the drug problems. He has also worked on many projects at the low income housing developments and he has seen and heard what problems take place. I am sorry that you do not understand that there are some caring people that still exist but there are. Turning a blind eye to all of these problems does not do anything at all to aleast try to help resolve it. It is easy to sit on I-240 and hand out tickets to people who are speeding. It is a much harder task to get rid of the drug thugs. Doing nothing does not accomplish anything. I have always heard that you can't fight city hall. But you can if you get off your behind and do it.
