it was a mistake and if you have nothing to say that is worth saying do not say anything at all, you must be mighty proud of your self for being able to spell the word duuuuuu.

I personally would not buy property there, simply because the place is going downhill...It was nice years ago, but there was have been a lot of tragic awful things that have happened in recent years there...I used to live nearby.

My family is also interested in more info about goose creek. We are looking for some property there or someplace like it that is not terribly far from St. Louis. Are ATV's allowed? What kind of ammenities are there? We looked at Woodland lakes, but it seemed pretty rough. Any info would be very helpful.

We have just lowered the price to $64,000K on our home at Goose Creek if anyone is interested.... We bought a bigger home as I come from a large family... In my opinion it's a great place to get away that is close to St. Louis.....
Fortunately we have been pretty lucky with regards to having any problems with break ins etc..
The home is listed by Nancy Coleman with Goodson Realty in Leadington, MO

And to answer your questions... boating, skiing, fishing, swimming (pool), and atv's are just a start of things available to do....it is a gated community so you must be a property owner or obtain a pass from a property owner to have access to these activities.

I have been in and out of Goose Creek for about the past 20 years. It is declining each year. There are meth labs and other ruffians out there. My family quit going there because it is out of control...if you have a lake lot its probably not as bad but it is becoming a good comparison to the dump that rocky ridge was (is). Guess you'd just have to be there on a holiday weekend and decide for yourself whether or not you think its worth it...atvs used to be fun there too but too many idiots riding around too fast and too drunk....that place is really just a ticking timebomb for someone to have a serious atv accident that will result in death.

I have been there many years and the lake it's self is great, but the board of trustees is out of touch with the peoples needs. They let a couple of people decide for the majority(that are just employees not even elected trustees)the rules we all have to follow. If you love politics, someone telling you what you can and can't do with your property, and someone with their hand in your pocket all the time come on down you will love it. Just good luck with trying to follow the guidelines set for you, because they change all the time, and don't apply to everyone. Who knows if you kiss the right butt you may love it!!!

I would like to say I enjoy Goose Creek. Yes tragic problems like drinking and drugs are there, and tragedy strikes all over the world. People need to step up and keep higher standards for maintenence of problems big and small. I would like to see some improvements in the area. Our families would greatly benefit from some crack down on the crack heads. Also some tree's around the playground and beach area would be nice for our babies to relax in the shade.

Goose Creek is my home away from home. You have to get to know the right people down there and stay away from the trouble makers and all is fine. A fight starts in a bar just the same at Goose Creek. You learn when to go to events and when not to and if you have your own people around, there isn't a reason for any trouble because you are together at your lot enjoying instead of in the way of the ones who want to start stuff. I believe you make it what you want and I made my place what I wanted and enjoy it. It isn't no different than looking anywhere else. Drugs are under everyone's nose, be it at your neighborhood now, or at your work. What you don't see and know, won't hurt you. I believe you make it fun if you want it be fun.

Read the by-laws. What a joke. Purchased the property several years ago for my son's. All names where listed on deed. Someone got the bright idea to charge dues for each name listed. Penny wise and dollar dumb.I see alot of this property sold on the court-house steps. The fee's exceeded the value of the property. Buying there is like buying a blind horse. We have since purchased 22 acres on another lake. All names listed on deed and no extra charge from the HOA. We have spent $100,000 dollars in the area in a short amount of time. And are planing on building several homes. I would like to thank the HOA at Goose Creek, before I invested any real money. Good luck and God Bless
