i love when people say they are "educated voters". if you were you would know they get cars vehicles at the gov. rate every three years. its been four years since they had new vehicles, and they only replaced one. so they didnt spend money they saved it. good lord, all you have to do is ask around and you would not make idiots out of yourselves. and f.y.i. cell phones and tint are not illegal for police vehicles or police officers on duty, state exemption.

Where in NJ Law does it state that tinted windows are exempt on police vehicles? Please indicate the statute number. Don't look too long because you're not going to find it. Chief, take off the tint.

Who gives a damn about the vehicle? It is Christmas, you know "Peace on Earth, goodwill to man". If you have such a problem with the new car get your lazy azz to a Council meeting and ask them. Oh, wait, but then you would embarass yourself. Give it up and get a life.

You people do realize that the police department busts their asses between the construction going on and the issues Netcong has with a lot of its citizens!!! They don't buy their vehicles they are leased. A police vehicle only lasts approx. 3 years! After that they are destroyed! These vehicles are driven 24/7. Get a clue people!

I agree with knucky!!! Fix the damn clock that businesses donated 1 million dollars for and the piece of crap doesn't work!

Happy New Years to All

If you know how to read then you will find out the under that law police vehicles are allowed to have tinted windows! You are probably the same person that bitches and moans when you see a cop in his patrol car on his cell! Look that up! They are allowed! People are so ignorant

What Law? There is a law that says no tinted windows and no cell phone. The only law that allows the use of a cell phone is for anyone to call 911. The only law that allows tinted windows is for medical reasons. When you say 'people are so stupid' are you talking about yourself?

I really don't think it's appropriate that a local police officer is making inappropriate comments on here regarding an official issue do you?? Just saying since i don't think you want to be the target of these posting juveniles and possibly have your job threatened.

Look a little further big boy...
This particular statute (13:20-32.7) pertains to inspection NOT the motor vehicle code, hence it is STILL illegal for police cars to have tinted windows. Inspection and the motor vehicle law are 2 different things. Anything else you would like to add big boy?? Touché!
