Good Afternoon,

I heard that Stuart,FL is a nice place to live because of all the fishing but I lived there and when compared to Palm Coast,FL - Palm Coast is soo much better! From my experience -Don't know about the Crime Rate but I find that Palm Coast does have less expensive rentals but the rentals are really nice houses! If you take care of your rental - you will not be dissappointed! My tween daughter says that Palm Coast schools rush kids a bit (this year the kids have less class time) but it is the best school she has attended in Florida. From what I know - kids can carry cell phones as long as they don't use them during class time.

About the trash pickup - I can honestly say they are the best! They usually show up from 6:30AM - 7:00AM - and if you can't wake up early you have to take it out the previous night because they are like clockwork!

I moved to Palm Coast from New York 7 years ago. Palm Coast is beautiful, but honestly it is better for a retiree, not a working family. Work is very hard to find. If you are not in the medical field there's really not to much to offer. Publix is probably one of the best jobs that you could get down here. I know because my husband works there, benefits are very good and so is the pay. Crime? Why is everyone saying that the crime is so bad? There is crime everywhere. Palm Coast if beautiful, the weather is nice and the beaches are so close. The schools in Palm Coast are not good. The schools worry more about ridiculous things - what not to wear, cell phones, etc. instead of academics. So, you have your ups and downs just like any other place you could live.

Hi, I know all of you Floridians are saying oh now not another NYer. Maybe not all but some. My step dad has offered me to me and my family to come live in his house in Palm Coast and help take care of my mom with Alzheimers. He had built a house in GA to get away from the heat and he just can't take care of my mom alone anymore. I work at LOWES and I am trying to transfer there possiblt in the next month and a half. I am extremely nervous but need to put my mom first. My husband and daughter are 90% soldon the idea and my husband says that we are going there in July to see how it goes first. The schools look nice and the area is on Fieldstone lane and it is quiet and pretty. But how is Fl for raisinfg an 8 year old girl? I live 20 minutes from Newburgh Ny and 65 minutes from NYC so our area sometimes can be pretty tough too. Any suggestions will be helpful.

Mr. Sunny Delight doesn't seem to have a clear picture of what is going on the country. By comparison, Palm Coast is doing pretty well. Every city is having problems now. To say that Palm Coast is a bad place to live just isn't true. I agree that things could be better here but given the economy we are still growing. Both in popluation and commercially. We are building a new movie theater and we are starting to see some residential building going on. Which has not been the case for more then 4 years. Also the price of homes in this area are an average of $25,000.00 to $40,000.00 cheaper, comparing apples to apples, then surrounding counties. In the last 5 years the average price of homes have gone from about $210,000.00 to about $115,000.00. So not only is palm Coast a great place to live and raise a family, It's a great place to invest in your future. As to the comment of nothing for childrfen to do, We have 3 city parks that have ball fields and swing sets etc. We have many places to go fishing and, as I said before we have a new theater coming soon. We also have many school programs for students to go golfing, fishing, camping, bowling, nature walking and boating. So many more things i haven't mentioned. Restaurants are lacking but many companies are now looking in this area to build such as Chilis, AppleBees and Longhorn Steakhouse. Also red lobster. Our airport has built a new tower so more planes can come here. Commercial planes. Not large ones but smaller commuter planes and jets. As to the unemployment of 13%, I would have to agree with that but things are this way everywhere! Not just here. It's not like Palm Coasts unemployment is way out of wack from everyone alse. Plus we have many large companies looking at our area for growth possiblities. with some moving here soon providing many jobs. It is unfortunate that people who live here don't see how bad things could be. All they would have to do is look at other counties like St. Johns and Volusia. Flagler county all in all is a great place and I believe it's a wonderful place to raise a family. I'm, raising 2 children myself. 10 & 14 years old. As for the schools, Our school are top notch for the most part. Our schools having recieved ALL A & B from the state of florida. Our Teachers are second to non when it comes to caring about our childrens futures. I would question how long it's been since sonny delight had children in school. Things have definitely changed. Our schools are very new and have all the mobern equipment for the most part. Again money is the root of all evil when it comes to what the schools have and what they don't have. That,s left up the powers that be. I hope you decide to live here, you will love it.

I believe my daughter would be going to Belle terre Elementary school. After NY where you get told off every day and the "what about me attitude... I pay your pay check from customers" a change would be nice... plus no more snow!

I have been researching Palm Coast as a place to live for some time now and found the comments above to be very mixed. I live in Cleveland, Ohio where the crime rate (2 points above national average), unemployment rate (15%) and poverty rate (35%) are some of the highest in the country and this has been going on for YEARS. We are cold and basically hibernate for 6 months out of the year. Last summer it rained more than any summer in Cleveland's history (over 100 inches of rain). So that there is some crime and kids are bored? Big deal! You have the sun and the surf and a brand new city in Palm Coast. Enjoy it will you can!

Palm Coast stinks plain and simple.Don't move here,it's a vortex of crap and boredom.Nothing for young families, singles or young couples. If you like to drive in a circle, buy groceries, and stare at trees then you are in the right place.

I have lived in Palm Coast for 16 years and I can't wait to leave. It is full of nasty NewYorkers. They brought their thug kids here to escape the big city. Palm Coast is crime, unemployment, taxes, and big government all rolled into a big shit hole. I just finally sold my house and I'm moving next week. Finally......

I have lived in palm coast for 4 years. I like living in palm coast, I am renting a 3 bdrm twinplex w/ 1 car garage for 700 dollars and it was brand new when I moved in. Try to find an apartment in Daytona for that.. if you do.. make sure you carry a gun. As like all areas. you have bad sections and good sections, they are alot of new jersey people here and me from ohio. I would say (some) of R section I know is bad-- but some parts of the R section is good. My dad lives in the r section.-- now with the unemployment. hello.. where is the unemployment low.. if your son in law is from the north, drug free, and hard working he shouldn't have a problem.. My boyfriend has a lawn care business and he is doing very well.. and this is the slow months..there are alot of retires and they need help around the house.. remodeling.. painting.. are good businesses.--
Well good luck..
I own a home in the B section, Indian trail west. It's a quiet section with great schools. It's close to parks and shopping. It's a great place to live, and own a home. You will enjoy living there.

Moving to Palm Coast is a great move. Good schools, parks and places to eat. The B section, Indian Trail West is quiet and close to everything. A great place to buy a home.

Palm coast is one of the fastest growing cities for CRIME! Trust me worst place to move....I know first hand of the crime and drugs in this small crap town....I know ppl that live there and I used to....absolutely horrible would not recommend to anyone! Schools are bad also! There's a reason houses and rent is so cheap there!
