I have noticed on Topix that the word “Concerned”, as in Concerned or Concerned Citizen etc., means ignorant nosy ass person in someone else’s business trying to start some crap. Why not “Concern” yourself with getting a life of your own.

If you weren't so "Concerned" as you say you wouldn't be on here reading what people say.... You need to take your own advise and get a life!

Sorry "Well" that you would find my comment insulting, this would seem to be quite telling of your situation in life. But let me assure you that I have a life and it is very fulfilling and prosperous. I was simply pointing out the humor of the “Concerned” misnomer.(oh, sorry, I forgot who I was talking to. A Misnomer is when something’s name or designation is incorrect or contrary.)

Geesh, you know you love it. That's why you look on here and that's why the number of viewers rise. Drama. This town loves it. This town loves to bring people down and to bash everybody. This town loves drugs and whores. This town is only a shadow of it's former self as most that were worth a shit has left. I have made a couple of posts about positive things, trying to break it up a little bit and they are ignored. Nobody wants to talk about real issues with some sense. Everybody it seems is on something and nobody has anything nice to say. Including yourself. They holler don't judge when really they mean shutup don't tell. The police and probation officers get off on taking people to jail and most have no reason being in the position that they're in to do so. While the ones in charge let the mexicans take over my home town. I said I would never leave, but the more I follow this and the more I see this town go down the pipes under the watchful eye of our precious sheriff. The more disheartened I become. I say everybody get out while you can and leave this hell hole behind as it is not the town I grewup in and is no longer the town that I love. PeaceOut.

Please don’t misunderstand, I in no way deny that I enjoy coming here from time to time to read the posts for humor and entertainment value (hence my original post). I guess one could say that it is akin to the amusement of visiting the Primate house at the zoo and watching apes and monkeys fling feces at each other. Furthermore let me assure you that I have very positive things to say about people that are positive people, which are the majority of our community. I must strongly disagree with you about my home town and community. I too am a Fitzgerald native and have always found living here to be a wonderful experience. Granted we were hard hit by the recession and lost a disproportionate number of jobs and recovery from that will be a long term ongoing process. As far as your objection to the Hispanic population, I don’t know if you have looked around lately but since the jobs here became unavailable, the majority of the Hispanic population have moved on to other area in seek of work and income. I am not really sure that I understand what your problem with law enforcement is. I personally have not known of any vendetta to arrest people without cause. In face it seems to me that local law enforcement has been relegated to the menial role of revenue enhancer for the local tax digests. Instead of patrolling neighborhoods, now officers and deputies are primarily out writing traffic tickets for speeding, seatbelts and insurance. I know the Sheriff to be a good an honorable man and feel that he is doing a wonderful job in as much as he is allowed given his “requirement” of collecting taxes for the county budget fiasco. Lastly, I must admit that I am confused at the frequent rants of people complaining about our community and the need to get out. I leave town several times a week on business and I have never been stopped and told I couldn’t leave. If you truly believe this community to be a “hellhole” then why not relocate? Many have before and many will in the future. At the same time many people will chose to relocate to here and choose to live here happily. I do hope that you find happiness in you life and location, where ever that may be.

First off you must have not been in none of the local manufacturing plants here lately as about 70% of the people employed in these plants are illegal immigrants. What is the last positive thing you have said on here? It was a town that I loved and I have always said I would never leave, but there are no jobs here and the few jobs that are remaining are filled with illegal immigrants that work dirt cheap, because they pay $10 a week in taxes where the average american pays $100 a week. I have tried to stick through the hard times and not leave my home town behind and keep my tax dollars here, even when I've been offered work that payed more out of town, but these probation officers and police are hell bent on keeping the jails full of marijuana smokers while the murder rate rises. I was ignorant as a child and thought that most people in this town wasn't racist and it was just the blacks complaining, but now I see as an adult that almost everyone in this town is racist and I'm sick of it. You tell me how an industrial maintenance instructor has any business being a sheriff. One that has had shady dealing himself in the past. At least in Irwin county Mr. Donnie has been in law enforcment his whole life and is a real sheriff. I don't want to leave, but it's getting to were as I and any poor American have no choice.

Fitz native, I am truly sorry that you have found such misery in your life and in our community. Based on your use of baseless random percentages and bizarre imaginary tax scales, I can see that you are talking from a position of mind-set and not of facts. Your attitude towards community and law enforcement is indicative of someone that is perhaps taking a self imposed victims outlook on life as opposed to a positive view of life’s potential. I am sorry but it appears that it is pointless to try to reason or communicate with you further. I truly hope you find some form of happiness in your life.

I am happy and my percentages are not random or baseless, as well as my knowledge of the tax scale is not imaginary. I have been in management in more than one of the local manufacturing plants and I have been the one to put their checks in the envelopes and hand them out. I have seen with my own eyes just what they pay in taxes. I am not blind and I read the local paper. I see in the back of the paper where all there is are arrests for probation violation and when I call around to see what happened. I'm told it was dirty piss for marijauna. I'm not saying it's alright to smoke, but I know of little white girls that have failed for pain pills at probation and not be put in jail. As far as that wanttabe sheriff his credentials speak for him and his credentials tell me that he has no business being a law enforcement officer and that he himself is a racist. I am not unhappy only sad for Fitzgerald and all of Ben-Hill county. PeaceOut.

Did you know that a former sheriff ran a gas station for years. He did a good job at both jobs. Our sheriff is well qualified and if you don't think so, prove it.

Fitzgerald is going very badly and if nobody complain what will the people know what to fix. Some of these people are born and raise in Ben Hill CO. and see what is happen to the town. Now I do not know where you stay but Ben Hill Co. is going bad!
