My daughter and other students on her bus have fussed about the driver being mean to them. Myself and other parents have called complaining about the driver and nothing has been done. He has been seen by parents treating kids bad they've called and still nothing. We've been told our kids pick on the driver. They are kids this is an adult. How would this driver feel if an adult snatched up Their child by the shirt or pushed their child down or cussed at their child. Some of these kids are on medication for Add or Adha and these are from ages 5-10yr old children. My child doesn't ride the bus anymore and will not ride ever again. I just think that if this is going on with one bus it's probably going on with other buses. I know that when I was having problems I was not called back from the department of transportation. I'm just wondering what is people's thought's on this. I didn't post this to bash anyone I just want it out on how some of the drivers are doing our kids and get advice on what may can be done besides the DOT since it's not worked.

First...believe about 1/10th of what your child tells you. They do tend to exaggerate.

If your child is off the bus, don't worry about it. Your problem is solved. If you want to talk to someone, go to the boe and ask to speak with the Transportation Director and the driver, together.

Lastly, apply to become a bus driver yourself. We can always use good new ones. I'd rather drink pure bleach than be a bus driver these days. Too many entitled, precious children on board.

Well when it's a bunch of children telling their parent's the same thing then it's hard not to believe. Secondly yes my child is off the bus but how many other children are on the bus still who get treated like dirt? It's not right that our kids get treated so bad from a driver going to or from school. They want our children to respect them but they need to respect our children as well. I wouldn't have a problem being a driver but I have a full time job and children of my own. Children will give you as much respect as you give them. They are very precious and don't deserve to be treated bad by anyone. As for the Dept of Tan. they will NOT do anything. We tried several times. We wish they would but they are not helping. I think they should have some buses followed without them knowing just at a random time. The drivers know where the cameras are and how to stay out of the view. It's sad. We can't trust the one's we are suppose to be able to trust the most with our kids.

My son was injured multiple times on the bus. I had to take get my attorney involved to find out who had assaulted him on the bus and for the school system to approve his placement on a special needs bus. He is handicapped, but is considered "highly functioning". The school said they wanted him in the least restrictive environment, which is why they placed him on a regular bus in the first place. I had been trying to get his IEP changed to make them switch his transportation to something more appropriate (which would be a special needs bus). It took my child getting bullied to the point that he regressed psychologically and suffered bruised ribs and a broken nose at the hands of another student whom it was proven assaulted him and had been bullying and terrifying him. The bus driver would curse at my son and called him a "retard" (this was caught on tape of course, because the buses have cameras). The school will tell you that they cannot show you the tape of your child because they are protecting the privacy of other students. But since parents are allowed to board buses with students on field trips and other event, and parents can walk all throughout the school with a pass as long as they have business being there, the privacy rule is legally thrown out the window. If you want to see what is really going on, request to see the tape in writing. Give specific dates and times. Also state that since under US Department of education rules that any recording in which school systems use to monitor students is considered part of your child's legal school records and documentation, they must provide you a copy or allow you to view the recording. This is federal law. I know that bus drivers work hard. Most are not bad people or bad drivers. But just because some are good doesn't mean there aren't others that are! There are good and bad drivers in every system. But if a bus driver is found neglectful, is verbally or physically abusive, or allows other students to repeatedly bully a child, they should be relieved of their duties.

I have seen how the kids act. I'd rather not post the driver's name.:} The point being is it don't matter how these kids act NO adult has any right putting their hands on MY child or any other child for that matter the way this driver does. This driver knew just like any other driver did when they went to driving buses that they would be driving CHILDREN.. If they want to drive ADULTS they should drive a gray hound.. js Luck is that the driver of 03-20? Just wondering because I've seen him at neal's walking out with things that doesn't belong on a bus.

Concerned, I'm concerned about all of these whiny mouth so called parents, allowing doctors to drug up their kids, and blaming bad behavior, lack of discipline in the home, and lack of parenting skills on ADD ADHD,it's called SPOILED LITTLE BRATS, stick that lable on your kid. Take responsibility for your kids, and train them up in the way they go and act and they will not depart from it..oh and you can still spank your children it is not against the law, beating and abuse is against the law, "you are what you tolerate" if you tolerate bad behavior from a child you will get it.

First off you must NOT have kids. Secondly mine do get into trouble when they do wrong. Third they ARE KIDS not, they are NOT in the military you don't train them to do shit. Fourth of all why don't you stop trying to give us parenting advice we can't help how you was raised but we don't see where our children need's to be getting their asses beat when it's not just one child. It's a bus load complaining about the driver. Trust me my child has been wrote up and even though my child is a primary child she got her butt in trouble for it. I never said my child was perfect hell your not either but the point you don't seem to get is they are KIDS.. Oh fyi my kids are not on medication for add or adhd. Not that it's your concern, but I think I'd rather get on here and talk to other parent's who deals with this shit than to go to jail for finding the driver and treating the driver how the driver treated my child. I don't snatch my kids up nor do I cuss at them So no damn body else is going to and get away with you. I also don't use the n word so the driver has no right's telling the kids that the driver is one. I will not have my kids dealing with that bullshit. So yes I think I did the best by venting instead of going to confront the driver. Since the school hasn't did anything. So you know my lawyer is getting video's so far he's working on three other cases besides mine and he's working on getting a few diver's fired for PUTTING THEIR HANDS ON CHILDREN...They have NO rights at all to do so.

Well maybe we should put the paddle back on the bus like the good ole days and we might not have all these problems. The driver should not push the kids in the seats, but if students knew that the driver could paddle them they would have more respect or better yet if they can't control the kid stop the bus & call the parent to come pick the child up.

One of my sisters is a bus drivers and she said yes they do sign up to drive children not HOOLIGANS and she drives a bus that has "normal" children and special needs children and has way more problems out of the "normal" kids than the special needs adn my other sister is an cop so, one of them has the HOOLIGANS now and one will have them later. Children should be taught respect to any adult and yes to get respect you should show it but, at the same time how do you know what the children do or say without being on that bus every single day! You cant you are going by hear say by children and sometimes they do stretch the truth. If there is abuse going on then it does needs to handled but, excuses dont need to be made for children who are not taught better than to act any kind of way and get mad when they dont get their way.

Well my youngest son was 4 years old when he got hurt on the school bus. I had to take him to the er cause the bus driver wouldn't do anything for him and told him and my daughter it was just a scratch my daughter was 12 when this happend and she held him in her arm screaming and crying for close to 45 min on the bus when we got to Dorminy Medical Center they took one look at him and told us he was cut to the skull and needed staples. The bus department has done nothing for him or my daughter and made me pay the ER bill. I have the bus video footage if you would like to see it

I agree...but more often than not, complaints don't get addressed or handled. My son has a WONDERFUL bus driver now! We couldn't ask for any better. But our first experience with the transportation dept. in this school system was awful. It's been quite some time now, but if my son sees the bus driver or the child that was primarily bullying him (there were several, but one was the ring leader), he becomes terrified. He is a kid like other kids, and not perfect, but he is good at school and on the bus. There are bus drivers that are WONDERFUL with kids and they put up with a lot for very little pay. But there are others that should NEVER be allowed to work with kids. My son may be handicapped, but he lives in a home where discipline reigns and good behavior is expected at all times. I think all children should have discipline and structure in their lives, and many don't nowadays. It's sad. I was raised "old school", and my kids are being raised how I was. I think bad behavior of children should be addressed when it needs to be, but bad and neglectful behavior of adults should as well. Any bus driver who does not notice a child getting the crap beaten out of them or blood all over a child because they have been injured while in that drivers care should be fired. If they see a child injured, especially a head or facial injury, the bus should be stopped. An ambulance should be called immediately so that the child can receive proper care. I have seen several kids come off the bus injured (mostly on the same certain buses with the same drivers). I am blessed my son no longer has to worry about that...But he should have never had to worry about it in the first place. If my child were injured like that on my watch and I failed to get him care, DFCS would get called. I understand he is my child, but when he is in the care of a school employee, they are responsible for his safety and well being. I commend 90% of the bus drivers in Ben Hill county. I know quite a few of them, and the ones I know are great people. I am sure your sister is a great bus driver & person. I don't think people are knocking the ones who do their job, care and take responsibility for the students who ride their bus while they are in their care. I think they are concerned with the ones who don't.
