I clicked on teh Telegram link and I remember that old store. Right next to the Thunderbird Pizza and Dairy Queen I think. It's been many years since I've been back to Fitchburg. Look at the food prices in the window! 22 cents a pound for chicken and 10 cents for a loaf of bread. I'm only in my 50's and that makes me feel ancient.

I remember walking to this store when I was like in 3rd grade during a big snowstorm with my sister. People don't believe there was one but I know. LOL

The Dairy Queen is still there. I am 49 and I must have been in 3rd or 4th grade when it was there. I dont know what year it closed. I went with my dad and my grandson to the dairy queen on River Rd just last summer. It is nice to visit the same places you went to as a kid with your grandchildren. He doesn't live far from there either. Kind of amazing because his mom is from VT.
