You know what? I bet a good number of those clients work for the city and the Police dept. and know where to find them, how to manipulate them and let them off for services rendered. If each and every person in that area took turns just BEING there...the clients and sluts would eventually go away. Stand up for your neighborhood and take action.

A simple fix wrote:
It's an easy fix, really. Just legalize drugs, then sell and tax just like tobacco, and booze. This great war the US has had on illegal drugs in the US for the past 50 years has been a complete failure. Prohibition did not work in the 20's, it's not working now !!!
Put, and keep, the real criminals in jail.
You're a moron! Where are these people who are so strung out on drugs going to get the money to buy their drugs from store. That's right!!! They'll still be stealing your shit to sell for drug money! Take another hit.

I say grass roots can take care of the problem. The business owners can be a first hand witness to lodge a complaint. I saw a family member drop a nasty girl, with pink sweats and total gnarly hurt all over her, off near the upper common. He knew I saw him. I went to her and offered her $10 for some info. She spilled her guts on everything. She probably got more from me than she did from him but i figured apparently she needed the money. He was trying to set up an every Thursday type of thing. Disgusting, the whole deal is difficult to deal with, but well worth the effort if you are not the only one really interested in shaking up the neighborhood.

This is probably the best way to deal with the problem. The old scarlet letter works every time!

I got approached once at the lights near the Fifth Street Bridge. She and a friend came up and asked if I wanted some fun. Told her she wasn't my type. "What's your type then?" "Blow-up." And I drove off.:D

A guy opens a business in a known prostitution zone, then repeatedly calls the cops to complain about prostitution. Any of these businesses could have opened 6 or 7 miles south (on more expensive real estate) and not had this problem. Here's a city with nothing doing for real economic development, or health and building code enforcement on an overabundance of very cheap but very old and decrepit apartments ~ and the problem is not enough prostitution arrests? I guess treating the symptoms are just easier than coming to terms with the problem.
The city has stepped up code enforcement to an unprecedented level. They have hired more inspectors and have been out in full force. It may take time to start to see all the results.

They're all over the Cleghorn residential neighborhoods too and prostitutes and gang members are living in the CDC "rehabilitated housing" on Plymouth Street. Thanks out of town Cornu Development and Property Management for bringing your particular brand of sleaze to Fitchburg. As if we didn't already have enough!
