You had to know the way Wong has acted would bring out all this. The Police Department has taken it on the chin at her hands. She should be thrown out of office.

In Hudson NH the same thing happened with their Captain, and the AG office has indicted him, FPD should be very happy no one is facing criminal charges as well.

Of course in Massachusetts corruption is an acceptable business practice even with our elected officials

"I'm going to forward that to the mayor and ask her to respond, and ask her if she followed those steps reviewed by the purchasing agent," Hay said.

Just more self-servng political double-speak by Hay (and Officer Kaddy) translated to mean that:

1. City contracts worth more than $5,000 must be in writing, and include a clear scope of work, and that Donovan was paid $5,079 for the investigation, which resulted in the firing of Police Captain Charles Tasca; so the Council members still have an "excuse" to continue to complain about the Mayor (who is doing a great job) and also get their names in the papers.

OR

2. After years and years and years of neglect and looking the other way, Council it took the Mayor spending an extra $79.00 to get them excited about waste and lax procedures by City officials. Duh!

I WANT the mayor to get rid of Fitchburg employees that are cheating the taxpayers. Why wouldn't the Council? I don't understand why everyone wouldn't agree 100%. That would NOT be tolerated in the corporate world.

Doesn't matter if it was 79 cents she is the one who keeps saying TRANSPARENCY. She thinks she can just do what she wants and no one will call her on it. And Ciota was playing dumb last night, he knows exactly what she is doing. She figures the council will just drop it if time goes by. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

It seems like the 'DYNAMIC DUO' Conry and Kaddy are at it again. If you don't like the way the mayor is running the city, why don't you run for the job yourselves next time around?? Let get some new blood in that council.

Wong needs to be held accountable and follow procedure just like all the investigation she is giving into other city departmarts. As far as planned parenthood, the people have a right to voice their concerns Mr. Starr and if you dont like it too bad. Were you not elected to represent the people? Who is passing their personal opinions on this you or your constituents. We have a right to oppose planned parenthood just like we have the right to oppose a strip club. If we through away all of our morals, what is left Mr. Starr? The city of Fitchburg.

A contract for $ 5,079 seems kind of strange. Was the original contract for less plus expenses and perhaps it was the expense portion that brought the contract over the $ 5,000 threshold?

Not sure but in any case this issue definitely should be looked into and procedures created so going forward there are detailed and explicit procedures in place to alleviate any misunderstandings.

why does this paper go after Wong when she is trying to dig Fitchburg out of a hole. The great mayor of Mazz however gets a free pass after numerous reports of sexual harassment have been levied against the mayor. Including being bi.tch slapped during business hours by his first mistress for cheating on her with his second mistress who also happens to be married. this guys ego is so large that leominster will need a new city hall to fit his fat head, which by the way they'll probably get before a police station or new high school

Wong is simply the bestest Mayor Fitchburg has ever had. I sleep better knowing Wong, McNutt, DeMoura and Ciota are running Fitchburg.

Ward 3 City Councilor Joel Kaddy was especially concerned about Wong's possible disregard for procedure.

"I understand the situation, but it doesn't mean we let the mayor or anyone else in this city violate the public trust," Kaddy said. "Something is definitely wrong with this."

Kaddy talking about "violating the public trust"? The investigater charged $80 over the $5,000 and council members raise questions????

Just take a look at the public records where Kaddy has benefitted greatly from purchases of property from the city. For example a 1/4 acre of land in 2003 for $1,000 . Public trust or public connections??
I would also like to ask Joel Kaddy about wet land developments that were allowed and now how caused overflow into the treatment plant??? Who answers to these questions???
Why is the $40,000 that was stolen from the treasury not attached to the treasurers trust when he passed?? The new laws state that anyones life insurance policy can be attached for the first $50,000. So the city just chalks up this loss??????????
I demand $40,000 cash and 1/4 acre of land from the city as every tax payer should demand!
Kaddy wants to raise questions over the overcharge for the amount of $80??? And he wants to raise issues of public trust???? Any council memeber that raises any questions due to the firing of Tasca should resign! He stole and should be charged criminally like any other citizen; shame on Kaddy!!!

Kaddy gets a lot of questionable perks from his position.
Rosemary reynolds got 1/4 acre lot for cheap off the city also.
I agree with the person who posted; they allowed the city to run a muck for decades and now they are concerned with $79.
Tasca was a crook and should of been arrested.
The public deserves to know about where the $40,000 plus went and why Kaddy and others are not concerned with retrieving this money??????
There are many great bargains that have been realized by members of the board and the police department!
This is all BS!!!!

I am so sick of hearing these council members state "years of service" when it pertains to the crooks within the police department!!

There is a chapter in every prison in the state for VIP; which stands for Veterans in Prison". There are aslo dozens of "good cops" as Kaddy would call them serving big time from drug dealing, murder, extortion, assau lt and R.ape

"Public Trust"; how dare you Kaddy ever utter those words!! You should go to jail as a co-defendant with Tasca as you backed his stealing!!!! Rosemary should go with you!!
"years of Service"? What the F does this mean???? Years of corruption? Years of embezzlement? Years of using your position for personal gain?? Years of out right stealing??
Kaddy and Rosemary should explain there real estate deals!!!!!!

The city of Fitchburg is lucky to have someone as talented and intelligent as Lisa Wong. Unfortunately, many in the city are too small-minded (I'm being kind, I really think they're just too stupid) to realize it. C'mon Hay, Kaddy, et al -- is a $79 overage the most important thing happening in the city right now? Or are you guys just posturing so you can run for mayor? If that's the case, be prepared.....it's tough enough to run a city in good times, but these days it's almost impossible without a thorough knowledge of economics. Excuse me but I forget where you guys got YOUR advanced Economics degrees?

.......and everyone thinks that a 29 year old when she took office had a clue! come on now your'e kidding me. she had no life experiences or work history to have been elected to run a city, starting off in a town would have been more up to her speed at the time of her first election. She is young and seems quite spoiled. It is ok for her to overlook or simply didn't know ! but it isn't for another.........sounds quite negligent and prejudice to me.
