GARDNER — Two of the Police Department's top ranked officers, both 13-year veterans, have resigned for reasons that remain unclear.

Mayor Mark P. Hawke announced this morning in a press release that Lt. Roger Wrigley and Sgt. Guy Bibeau have resigned from the department for “personal reasons.” He declined to offer further explanation of their resignations, or what the specific reasons were.

Earlier this month, when asked about rumors of an internal investigation Police Department, the mayor would not acknowledge there was an investigation within the department. He only said the city had been looking into a personnel matter. The mayor declined to say what, or who, the personnel matter involved.

Lt. Wrigley and Sgt. Bibeau were hired at the same time in early 1997.

The lieutenant, an Athol native who served in the Army and as a part-time Westminster officer prior to being hired in Gardner, was appointed sergeant in 1999. He was promoted to acting lieutenant in 2008 and as a permanent lieutenant in January 2009.

Sgt. Bibeau, a Lowell native, was working for Simonds Industries Inc. in Fitchburg prior to being hired as a full-time police officer in the city in 1997. He was promoted to sergeant in May 2003 after a Civil Service ruling in his favor after he appealed, saying he was passed over for promotion in favor of Sgt. Kevin Minns, even though he scored higher on the Civil Service examination.

Recently, Sgt. Bibeau has worked for the department and the License Commission investigating liquor law violations.

Bibeau worked at Simonds and then to the GPD where he investigated "liquor law violations?"

So he may have had connections to the ABBC in Boston?

Hmmmm??

So, let us know what your theory is of reasons why it is that they got fired.

Here's an idea. Why don't you two go to the Halloween costume shop, buy a G.I. Joe and police uniform and gay rape each other while Gomez rubs one out?

Civil,

This is your time of year, Halloween. When you can confidently dress up like an army man and no one will question you. But the opportunity if fleeting isn't it. You've been called out for your lies and for playing make believe on here as an army man. Like all liars, see Lynch, your lies eventually trip you up and you forget which lie is which and when you said what. You had a good run, but now we see you for what you are, just a pathetic little man with nothing going on.

Go get 'em Gomer.

No, actually pretty much dead on. Those that have been on Topix for a while have seen Civil's lies that he's been caught in. Especially claiming to have served in two different branches of the armed forces. He's a fraud and he knows it.

And you're one of the few who likes to use his moniker but he always posts through a Winchentucky ISP address.

For one drinking off duty with their police issued guns on them.

Getting into a fight and then pulling police issued guns out and stating we are cops.

having a court order to stay away from this women and still have their guns on them.

I believe it's called a license to carry. They probably stated they are cops because ummmmmmm they are cops?
