against job creation

I'm writing to correct Maggie Whitney's letter ("A vote for Scott Brown is one for job creation," Aug. 2) suggesting that Scott Brown hasn't deterred job creation. Brown's actual voting record in the U.S. Senate tells a much different story.

In fact, Scott Brown's record on jobs is one of partisan obstruction. Brown joined his right-wing Republican colleagues to filibuster and kill the American Jobs Act, the Rebuild American Jobs Act, and the Teachers and First Responders Back to Work Act.

Those three bills alone would have meant an estimated 33,000 jobs for the commonwealth. Unfortunately for Massachusetts families, Brown chose partisanship over leadership, voting to kill those 33,000 jobs for Massachusetts.

He has also voted against funds for summer jobs for teenagers. Further, when a group of Boston teenagers tried to submit a petition to Sen. Brown's office urging him to reconsider his position against funding for summer jobs, Sen. Brown's staff blocked these impressive young adults from being allowed to enter the building!

Additionally, prior to U.S. Senate leadership hammering out a compromise that kept the student-loan interest rate from doubling this summer, Sen. Brown actually voted to allow the interest rate to double, making a college education more expensive.

Those are the facts, and that is Republican Scott Brown's real record.

Good one. A letter from a communications director (whatever that is). What's next A letter from your mom? What you don't understand is these bills are filled with so much pork they are seaping. Sure Brown shot some bills down but there was probably things in them like raises for the communications director (whatever that is).

I am sure he did. He is unlikely to go anywhere without Mommie Dearest.
