To put it in perspective:
The Pan-Mass challenge, very big, millions and millions of people have ridden, donated, sponsored and assisted this great activism. They have all been doing that since 1980, 32 years of all this hard work. Know how much they have generated over that 32 years, all those people, all that activity, all that money put together equals 358 Million donated in 32 years! Fantastic right!!?
The Koch brothers have targeted for the Presidential election spending of 400 Million!!!! You read that correctly, TWO PEOPLE are going to spend 400 Million dollars THIS YEAR trying to BUY this election!!!!!
Hundreds of millions of people work tirelessly for 32 years to amass that much money for a good cause and these two guys will legally spend in one year, trying to buy the Presidency, more than that!
Do you think this is how "one person, one vote" our representative Democracy is supposed to work?!!?!!??!!
Get on Campaign Finance Reform OR you really are saying goodbye to this great experiment.
They bought WI, they'll buy the rest of the country as well unless you put aside your left v. right paradigm and vote for a constitutional amendment supporting this great Democracy!

You are Correct! Money has corrupted Politics where your vote is meaningless because the Money does the talking! Lobbyists rule anymore. The Supreme court voted 5 to 4 on Party lines (conservative- liberal) to have bush elected, limitless spending for SuperPACs and will probably reject Obamacare. So is this how an impartial court works? Vote straight Party line??
If so, we are all in trouble!!

Raise a billion dollars in 2008 for your presidential campaign with the help of corporate bundlers
Complain that a Supreme Court decision in 2010 allows corporations to influence elections.
#7 Jun 14, 2012
Now you have Billionaire contributors having personal access to Politicians including Presidents! When was the last time you were able to spend an hour one-on-one with Obama or Romney? Never will happen because you are NOT rich!
The solution is easy- TAKE THE MONEY OUT OF POLITICS! Max contribution for Individuals or Corporations should be $100. Then maybe your vote will count- now it doesn't! Who is your Lobbyist?

"Campaign fundraising in the 2008 presidential election was thought to have reached dizzying heights. Republican nominee John McCain raised $370 million for his presidential bid, while Democrat Barack Obama shattered records en route to a $750 million haul. The totals, at the time, seemed staggering.
Four years and a Supreme Court ruling later, the 2008 fundraising figures will very likely appear puny by the time the 2012 dust settles.
Republican super PACs and other outside groups shaped by a loose network of prominent conservatives -- including Karl Rove, the Koch brothers and Tom Donohue of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce -- plan to spend roughly $1 billion on November's elections for the White House and control of Congress, according to officials familiar with the groups' internal operations.
That total includes previously undisclosed plans for newly aggressive spending by the Koch brothers, who are steering funding to build sophisticated, county-by-county operations in key states. POLITICO has learned that Koch-related organizations plan to spend about $400 million ahead of the 2012 elections -- twice what they had been expected to commit.
Karl Rove's Crossroads operation alone is expected to collect $300 million -- nearly as much as McCain's entire campaign total in the last election.
Indeed, it's important to realize that the playing field has changed in fundamental ways. In the traditional model, we'd see two major-party candidates, each backed by their respective national party. In 2012, President Obama's campaign team will effectively have two extremely well-financed opponents: Mitt Romney and the RNC, which are projected to raise at least $800 million, as well as a $1 billion outside attack operation.
Obama, in other words, is going to face a far-right wall of at least $1.8 billion between now and Election Day. To say this is without precedent in a major democracy is a dramatic understatement."
1.8 Billion, one person, one vote, doesn't have a chance!!!!!!!!!!
"Everyone seems to be having a case of vapors over Sheldon Adelson donating 10 Million dollars (!) to the Romney effort today. But does everyone understand that Sheldon Adelson is worth 25 billion dollars? He's the 7th richest man in the United States.
We have never before had so much money concentrated at the top. These are vast fortunes beyond our imaginations. It makes perfect sense that some of these oligarchs would spend tens of millions to buy elections. It's not that much money to them. There is no shaming them about it.
They do care about their "legacies" and reputations, however, which is why he's going to hide most of his spending behind the big GOP front groups."

Same old tired whining. It was OK when Obama outspent McCain more than two to one, but NOW its different.
...and you are forgeting something, money may enable the media to put out information (true or not), but it is the "electoral vote" that puts the President in the chair. If you want to bitch about something, bitch about that system instead of having a system where the actual voting for you and I do count.
We have adequate technology to create a voting system where people could be confirmed as the correct voter and place their vote where it would actually count. Our "electoral system" because voters are grouped and averaged out, or sometimes even ignored as to how the vote should be placed.
You can't have a voting system any more unfair than being a Republican in Massachusetts. Campaigning Democrats for president never have to spend any time in Massachusetts because Massachusetts will ALWAYS carry the Democrat.
So you can cry about the money being spent, but that is just a distraction...the voting system in our country is broken, but the reasons are beyond money.
#10 Jun 15, 2012
As usual you cannot grasp the magnitude of numbers given to you, 1.8 Billion is a distraction!!!!!!!!!!
Poor baby, talking about WHINING, you don't like being in Liberal MA move to Indiana or somewhere else, there are plenty of RED STATES!
MONEY is corrupting elections, "electoral vote" works and has for a very long time!
BTW, LIAR, you have zero cred here, perhaps you want to jump on an Indiana topix board instead, where they haven't already proven you to be a LIAR with zero integrity?
Why don't you go on the rmoney bus tour, where you feel much more comfortable with other LIARS!!
#11 Jun 15, 2012
I have no problem grasping the magnitude of any number. You are the individual whining about money being spent for camapaining because your jackass president will be outspent instead of doing the outspending.
I can understand why you feel the "electoral" voting system works because it put Obama in the Whitehouse. Unles you can prove that the legislators that place the votes that are tallied are being purchased by the money being spent, your comments are just comments.
The money doesn't translate directly into votes placed unless our legislators are SELLING THEIRS VOTES. The votes you and I place at the polls is kind of meaningless under our current system because our votes really aren't used to determine the actual outcome.
I'm not whining...just stating facts that you obviously cannot contradict.
#12 Jun 15, 2012
BTW Sonny (Etch)...the only thing you continue to prove is that you can continue to call some a liar...geeze man, grow up, you act like a first grader.
Liar Liar...pants of fire!!
Take some medication or go jump off that bridge you previously posted about...do something meaningful for cryin out loud.
#13 Jun 18, 2012
Awe poor pissy little whiny LIAR! IF you don't like being called a LIAR, then do as has been suggested, make the statement that redeems your integrity, I know, I have to spell it out for you since you cannot comprehend HOW TO ACTUALLY BEHAVE LIKE A PERSON WITH INTEGRITY on your own!
You tagged onto a LIE that someone else posted, tried to further that LIE and demonize others with it. It was a LIE and a mistake for YOU to have done that.
You make that statement and get let off the hook, otherwise, YOU'RE A LIAR who refuses to acknowledge your mistakes which keeps you at LIAR status!!!!
And it's a shame you cannot figure that out for yourself, but instead try for weeks to hide and bury the fact that you are a LIAR!!!!!
#14 Jun 18, 2012
NOT ALL THE FACTS DOESN'T LIKE THE shoe on the other FOOT!!
He calls everyone else a LIAR but starts crying when he is called LIAR!
That's because he cannot or does not know how to debate the issues!
#15 Jun 18, 2012
I've said it before Justice, I don't need your help and I don't support bashing for the sake of bashing, or ganging up on people which is all what they do.
I was talking to someone, you are talking about someone and that's not how it should work. I would give him grief for doing that (and have) and I'll give you the same grief.
Knock it off.
#16 Jun 18, 2012
"I can understand why you feel the "electoral" voting system works because it put Obama in the Whitehouse."
So, it's a problem when it puts Obama in but wasn't a problem for putting Bush in???????
Yes, that's exactly how you think, hypocritically!
#17 Jun 18, 2012
Well this should get you back into the good graces of NOT ALL THE FACTS!
#18 Jun 18, 2012
I am talking to you right now, and I was in the last post too, do you not understand something I've said?
#19 Jun 18, 2012
I was also talking to you!! What don't you understand about that!!
#20 Jun 18, 2012
Don't be a douche, if your only goal is to be contrarian, combative and blindly bashing anyone who disagrees with you, try being a Republican, this is how they have honed their strategies.
There's a level of honesty, truthfulness and integrity that basically is the higher ground when dealing with the Breitbarts of the world and if you can keep it, your arguments go a lot further. Everyone deserves this respect until they clearly don't earn it by giving you the same respect you deserve. Once you're off the deep end, there is no coming back.

This is something you said Justice...
"That's because he cannot or does not know how to debate the issues!"
Do you truly believe this or were you just blowing smoke like they do?
