Did you happen to run into or see anyone roaming the streets downtown in a daze all night long while mourning the loss of his beloved pet while you were also out and about looking for a pig?

There is certainly an element of truth to post # 1....The police DO seem to spend much of their time parked in large, well lit parking lots, versus prowling the troubled areas of our fine city.

I suppose that it is a hell of a lot safer for our LEO's to pull over a 40 year old white woman, who is driving a mini van and who has a burned out tail light bulb; than it is to be dealing one on one with the real criminals. The cops are notorious for feeling like they are underpaid and underappreciated by the Taxpaying Public; so many of them develope the philosophy of "why should I risk my life for these ingrates? I'll just lay low somewhere open and brightly lit, and stay out of harms way".

I'm not sure but I think the way it works is police wait for a call of a crime in process. Now I suppose they could all just park in your driveway and wait for you to do something illegal or they can be strategicaly placed near stores and restaraunts where most of the theft and vandalizm occurs.

OK, OK, I think that I am following you. Let me see if I have it correct: At nights, when the stores and the restaurants are closed and they are locked up tight; the police will spend 45 minutes, an hour or even more, parked right smack dab in the middle of the parking lot; just in case a call comes in from somewhere; versus actually prowling up and down the known trouble areas. Absolutely brilliant. No wonder the real criminals are having a free for all. The police are off parked in the middle of a parking lot at a shopping mall that is closed.

Thanks for proving my point for me. I think that it is safe to say that by now the prostitutes, the pimps, the drug dealers, the robbers, the car thieves and the home invaders have all figured out that as long as they are not committing their illegal acts in the middle of a brightly lit closed down shopping mall; chances are extremely high that they will not have to worry about the FPD interfering. Again, brilliant.

Hey thanks for the compliment. Can you imagine thieves, drug addicts and prostitutes running thru a mall or a drug store after it close? Probably not a good idea.

In other words there are only so many police. As it turns out it's more important and more likey for a criminal to break into Macys and steal jewelry than it is for one to break into your house and steal your 1984 Walkman and your Flock of Seagulls cassete tape.

Why not follow the prostitutes and drug addicts to the dealers???? Man handling addicts and prostitutes is not going to get the job done! And giving extremely low bails to gun runners and drug dealers is not a good idea neither!

I thought Fitchburg had detectives??? As my proposals outlined in my flier. I wanted more detectives and detectives working different shifts and not just monday through Friday 7-3 when the addicts are sleeping and not buying drugs!

I feel that Demoura is failing concerning management of the FPD. He could turn it around by beginnning with neighborhood meetings to listen to concerns. He could display obvious signs of respect towards citizens in general. He needs to be the LEADER in developing community relations so that we can begin to build a sense of community.

I wrote the Mayor requesting for her to approach Demoura matching the Somerville salary that he was seeking before the selection of that position and to offer to concentrate on purchasing new cars and equipment to assist him. Since the Mayor did take this suggestion and sinse unfortunately the Chief has not produced an effort worthy of the salary pay raise which was significant.

Now all those out here will point out see, "lynch hates police"! No, Lynch wants proper policing and superior management especially when he knows that the management is recieving top salaries! Lynch wants the FPD to develop protocols and to incorporate civility training within its department. Showing respect will go much further than you think! When you have a police force that presents themselves respectfully then you have a community that will stand up alongside them which is a good thing! This is not the patrolmans fault it is poor management.

Management is responsible for the workings of its department in which they manage! Chief Bratton was able to achieve this success in which I promote! You will always have the "smash them in the face" promoters but these people do not understand reality. This does not work! Society actually manages itself when there is civility and proper management involved in the city.

Take the blue light on cedar street for an example. The most affected residents don't want to say anything due to the repercutions from Antonucci concerning the jobs that there relatives hold. This is how the mob is able to operate through fear!

I do not like the mob as they are evil and very nasty and cold hearted individuals that would watch their own mothers' get assasinated. Sometimes local governments can control and operate under the same premise which we must not allow in any American city. For a small city, Fitchburg leads the state in this regard.

Yes, I wrote to Antonucci and told him to have a miserable Christmas as he oversaw the un just dismissal of my brother from his empoloyment after my brother just recieved great job reviews. Mr. Antonucci didn't hesitate to fire my brother in a tough economy, in my mind I believe that he was the henchman for the good ole boy network!

I had written his attorneys explaining that we were hirering attorneys to hold the University accountable. He in turn jumped on the movement to capitalize on the pointing towards my record from 1992. They have put my picture and my brothers' on the University police bulletin board and has stated that I cannot step on the University property.

When you utilize power like this improperly to bend arms then it must be addressed. I have not been able to attend public meetings, ward 5 meetings nor any other public meetings at the University due to Mr. Antonuccis' ties to the good ole boy network.

What he does not understand that he is a state employee and will be held accountable to follow state laws which he is abusing. He has purposefully interferred in the local politics as his management oversees political debates and forums.

And yes there will be civil actions filed to address this interference! Ethics laws clearly bar a State employee from utilizing the power of their position in order to interfere with the political process and free speech. He is attempting to control who gets heard! Tim Cahill was just indicted for the same behavior.

Yes, I take stances that many do not as they fear reprisals and Yes I have felt these reprisals first hand. If people like myself do not file these complaints and take these unjust whacks then it will only get worse for Americas free society as our Constitutional rights are being taken by this small connected group. It may take years to correct but you must be resiliant.

Every year the voter participation decreases. Mayor Wong was thrilled that 18% voted. In my eyes this means that 82% of registered voters did not vote and many more do not even register any longer. This is why I was the ONLY candidate who registered new voters. Imagine if the 82% voted??? Things would be so much better. Then we wouldn't see Mayor Wong asking Antonucci how high when he asked her to jump!!

The University doesn't pay taxes Mayor. She knows this as she is only interested in the 51% of the 18% who did vote! She is a politicial through and through!! Forget the average citizen; why stand up for the majority of the citizens when they do not vote??

You will see true change that works for the pursuit for a better and safer Fitchburg when these people STAND UP!!!

I thought that we were discussing Fitchburg, yet you are bringing up Macy's. Did Macy's suddenly move into Fitchburg and set up a fully stocked jewelry department within the last couple of hours? Or, are you living up to your moniker: Stupid Dummy?

Okay, let's say the cops take a more aggressive approach at fighting crime. More patrolling, harrassing dealers, prostitutes, etc.; rounding up all the bad guys. Well we all know what happens next-the courts drop the ball. Look at some of the other topics here for instance, the $3,000 bail for being drunk, having a stolen weapon, even allegedly having a weapon with blood on it. WTF? The cops can drive around all night arresting these losers, and the courts basically set them free to continue on with their business.

I did not have your post removed Sweetie Pie. If it was removed, it had nothing to do with me. Perhaps the Topix Forum Moderator did not approve of your choice of words.

I noticed that when I happen to strike a nerve with the cops and their faithful supporters, they don't hesitate to behave poorly here on this forum. As I have said countless times, the cops do not do very well when they have to play on a level playing field. And, Topix Forum is a level playing field.

The Governor is a State Employee and is involved with politics. So what is your point? The State Fire Marshall was never in the fire service either he was a lobbyist at the State House before he got his job.

All State jobs have some form of politics involved.

What about family members who hold political office looking into matters for other family members? I seem to remember you stating that you had a congressman with the same last name as you looking into matters for you, is that not an ethics violation?
