Even with all of the work being done to fix the catch basins Mother nature has a way of messing things up. Of course if people would stop throwing trash on the sidewalk and on the street it would be a lot easier. I'm always amused by people who complain the drains are clogged as they throw their plastic candy wrapper in the street.

I was amazed at the number of people leaving their empty water bottles and trash on the lawn area at the RiverFront Park on Sunday when we were there for the kickoff for Civic Days. It is a sign of the times where people care little about anything beyond their own needs...very sad.

I walked around the area and picked up some of the trash and walked just a few steps to a trash container...so simple.

Actually it was a good thing. Anytime we have a storm like this we call it the "Cleansing of Cleghorn" because all the trash and debris flows down Daniels St., Oakhill Rd. and Madison St. into the the Nashua River.

All nice and clean now in Cleghorn.

Unfortunately you are correct. I took the wife to S.S Lobster because I like their food when there was a flash flood rain storm. When we left I went up thru Cleghorn and it was like a river coming down the street. Good thing we were in one of my trucks because her little car would never have made it.

I can never understand why people throw all of the trash out in the street and then complain that the catch basins aren't working when it rains? It would be like filling your sink with all of your left overs and then saying this sink sucks it's all clogged up and won't drain!!

I would never eat at S.S. Lobster. Their fish is terrible and they depend on their reputation from years ago. You can get fresher fish at the supermarket and better take out food at any of the other drive-ins around the area.

The place is a dump too. They remained open after their fire last week. They must have had connections with the Board of Health. People were still eating and buying fish there after there was smoke and other contaminates in the building floating around.

Their fish isn't fresh, that is just a myth they keep pushing.

Haha, you must be french and an old timer or someone who listens to other people that go there. The place is unsanitary in the back kitchen area, obviously where no one get to see. The staff has to treat everyone nice anyways.

Other local places have better fish, fresh, costs less and you get twice as much.

Hi Hmmmm,

I must agree with American. SS Lobster has become a pigpen, the food is awful, and the staff is marginal. They are an example, like so many others, that fail to provide what they used to provide.

Good fish...Cleghorn House of Pizza in Fitchburg...haddock is really good. Weathervane in Leominster...native shrimp is exceptional. Seafood of all types at Kimball Farm in Lancaster...beyond exceptional

Exactly, Kay's in Westminster gives the most food for your money. kimball farm is really good. But any place is better than S.S. Lobster. Everyone sees the parking lot full so they figure it must be good there. Wrong!

The place stinks too inside. I can't believe people actually go in and sit down in there.

Again it is mostly the senior citizens that because of tradition and they don't like change always go to S.S. Lobster. They also do not like to drive out of Cleghorn.

I like Kimballs too and they give you enough food for your money plus they have a car show every Friday night. Another good place is Tinys in Ayer I think it's on Thursday they have 'all you can eat fish night'. But I do believe all of the restaurants get their fresh fish from S.S.

Hi American,

I have found in the last few years that kays is kind of touch and go. Sometimes it is good and sometimes it isn't very good. I'm not certain why they are being inconsistent...Kimbals provides enough food on a combination plate for both my wife and I to eat and even have a little left over...gotta leave some room for the ice cream!!! yum

Very true about Kimballs. My wife and I will split a plate and then go look at the cars with a full stomach. Although she is maybe 120 lbs. soaking wet she can eat and we never finish what we decide to order.

Shrimp are native to Leominster? If so, to what part of Leominster?
