Everything filters through this good ole boy network. From the judges at the court through the license board. Everything in Fitchburg is tainted by this network.
Everything is failing in Fitchburg. The only way to repair Fitchburg is to eliminate this networks control. They prevent business. They cripple job growth. They completely destroy a sense of community as they only want a small percentage of the population to be involved.
They have succeeded on isolation. It can be seen as there is a very few businesses in operation in Fitchburg and they have very few customers. This is how they want it. This is anti business and has ruined Fitchburg.
They control everything from the University through the utilities. Nothing is working in Fitchburg. We need State audits and investigations. The Governor needs to step in and change state employees that operate in Fitchburg.
And Yes, the blue light on Cedar street is a sign of this complete arrogance. It is a symbol of their corrupt and arrogant power that is used to destroy the community of Fitchburg.
And by the way, I have been spoken to by many employees of the FPD and the courts as they agree and support my statements. They are controlled from saying anything due to this network hold over everything. If you want to know who they are then just look at who is the most professional in their jobs at their respective departments!

Hmmmm.......
Wrong! Mayor Wong is a democrat when she needs another Democrats support. Antonucci I don't believe is a Democrat as he is now on the board of the Chamber of Commerce who is a major supporter of the Republican party.

The Chamber of Commerce advertises for outsourcing to China and India. President Obama begged them to stop promoting outsourcing. The Chamber recieves most of its funding from foreign governments and foreign interests. The US government needs to officially cut ties to the Chamber of Commerce.

A Democrat believes in the need for social programs. Mayor Wong enjoys the funding for these programs.

If she was serious then she would follow Worcesters lead and to have her new friend Millionaire Barnaby that she gave a city block to at no cost to build a state of the art homeless/mental health facility.

I have proposed such a project as Fitchburg is in need and it has many buildings in Fitchburg that could accomodate such a project. There is a serious mental health population within Fitchburg that needs assistance. They sleep in our parks, under our bridges and in the woods of Fitchburg.

We have heard reports of rape, murder and robberry and assaults concerning this population. When is our so called Democratic Mayor going to pay attention to this need???

We have made suggestions to the Police and the city in regards to holding these students accountable.
"They are University students" is the answer as if it is an exemption to break the law. Arrest these students, if you want to pamper them then just give them community service instead of marks on their records.
The University police could work them cleaning up their mess as a punishment. What is wrong with such a punishment?
I am tired of watching the Campus police act as chaperones to these students as they walk from party to party at 5AM! What about recording their names and student IDs?
I have listened to and heard many neighbors complain about the students as they are constantly disturbed. Some of these neighbors work the first shift and have just one hour of sleep due to these parties till 5 am!
Now if these neighbors fall asleep at the wheel and have a fatal accident they will not be exempt from prosecution!
Everyone understands that there is partying in college areas but till 5AM???? NO!! They are outside yelling at the top of their lungs at 5AM screaming highly intoxicated, destroying property and urinating and yelling at their neighbors!
We need a Mayor with guts! A Mayor that will tell Antonucci point blank that this behavior will not be tolerated and that if he does not address it then he will be reported to the Governor and a replacement will be requested.
I have noticed that the street lights are off on Willow street near the new University housing! Now Antonucci will deman from the Mayor that these lights to be turned on and the Mayor will jump and put the lights on!
I have seen the total disregard given by the Mayor to the concerns of the citizens of Fitchburg. Their has been thousands of signatures gathered from these citizens requesting for our lights to be turned back on and the Mayor has snubbed her nose at this request!
The Mayor is suppose to represent the citizens and not just the special interests within Fitchburg! I would like to know who this Barnaby from Boston is and why he is so special in recieving free city property? Does he have relations to the State Treasuror whom the Mayor donates to?
We need to follow these links as the Sentinel isn't going to as they seem to enable such behavior through their ignoring of these situations when it relates to certain people within Fitchburg!
I encourage all citizens of Fitchburg to stand up, register to vote and to vote out all that are currently in office.
Both Stephen and Marcus DiNatale seem to be the only ones who care about fitchburg. City councilor Bean seems to care a bit also for a better Fitchburg.
The new student housing building on Willow Street was not given to Barnaby and it was not City or State property. Barnaby purchased the building and land from Seppala & Aho.

The University has nothing to do with the building. It is a private company that is operating it. Rent is now at $650 per month per student. Barnaby constructed it soley for students who do not want to live in an apartment or dorm.

Barnaby is a multi-millionaire investing in Fitchburg real estate. It is a private company such as Seppala & Aho.

In reference to University housing. There are no lights on in front of the new aprtment buildings. How long due you think it will take the Mayor to turn those lights back on??
Antonuccis' position must be to address this lights out issue as they are students and it is a serious security issue.
On the Mayors behalf, as she has displayed before, the University students are more important than the tax paying citizen of Fitchburgs security.
Lights across Fitchburg are still out as pedestrians and drivers cautiously and with some luck have been able to drive through the dark streets of Fitchburg.
You were going to clean up the graffiti? that is a good one coming from someone who does not even clean up after himself.

I remember an article in the paper that explained that Mayor Wong gave Barnaby a building in Fitchburg. It must be another building then. The article stated that the developer was going to renovate the building for student housing.

I would like to know the facts now as you have stated that it was not given to Barnaby by the Mayor. I will research further.

I always felt bad for people I know who live in the college neighborhood. I tell them: do you know why it's like that in your neighborhood? Because college kids live there. And they look at me like they're dumb. Because if they don't like the college neighborhood, they should move out. Living with college kids around is awful anywhere. At FSU we have a long history of overindulgence.

Party on!

Barnaby is NOT a multi-millionaire. In fact, he was close to broke when he started this project. He is a developer who knows how to get other investors on board. He tried dozens of banks (including all the Fitchburg banks) and was turned down many times before he found a loan source. Ellen Di got him the historic tax credits by getting the building declared historic. He has partners in every business. The last time he tried it alone was in NYC and he lost his shirt and had to go move in with his mother for two years. Now I hear he's trying to dump the annex that he got from the city for $5K. Perhaps the romance ends with student housing. So, Lynch don't be jealous.

Not all college neighborhoods are this bad! There needs to be consequences. Your logic is stupid. Under your thinking maybe we should allow the students to drive the cruisers!

No one is asking for the partying to stop as there is a tolerance level. 5AM partying is not acceptable!

There always needs to be debate! You need to hear both sides. Brainstorming is always good.

You are narrow minded. Do you understand that the MAJORITY of home owners in the college area are constantly cleaning the area? When the students leave the area is cleaned immediately by the home owners!

So, you want all the homeowners to move out of the college area to make way for uncontrolled partying?

Do you even recall that a student murdered his girlfriend? Do you understand that there are bloody fights at these parties?

Do you know that they just made the girls dorm co-ed? Do you care? If you don't care then stay out of the conversation.

Do you mind that there are crack heads in Fitchburg? Do you know that there are gang members? Arm robbers? So if you don't mind them then there is no reason for you to comment.

If you are one who doesn't like citizens on welfare then I should just answered to you "then just move to wayland?"

You have no concept. You have zero reasoning ability! So college underage out of control partying is good?? Until a student dies, right? so let it go on till a student dies? This is your logic?

So is a student who doesn't party till 5AM a better student? Is it a good marketing for FSU that it is a partying University? Do you even know that it is already known for this?

There are many University neighborhoods that are controlled from such partying. Do you even understand this fact?

So, students should be allowed to party uncontrolled? Do you even have knowledge of the massive house fire on Highland ave that housed students? Do you even know that it was a drunkin students cigerette that burnt the place down?

Let me ask you, didn't the city of Fitchburg give him property? Was it the Day street property?

I am not jealous I am just interested. I am against the student overlay if it is utilized to benefit millionaires only. I feel that these student housing will make many local homes vacant or rented to crack heads as an option.

Under this scenario, the students will be going through crack neighborhoods in order to get to classes. I believe that there will be more robberies of these students.

I have noticed atleast five vacant apartment buildings that once housed students. I feared this and it is now fact. Logic tells me that these homeowners will stop putting money into rehabbing these homes. This means that the local carpentry and handyman/lanscapers will be out of work also as the owners income stops.

Another possibility is the lack of students. As the economy gets better the student population will decrease. Mayor Wong ignores this possibility.

I believe in longterm solutions as opposed to short term solutions. I believe that Mayor Wong doesn't even consider the cons/negatives when making decisions.

They run with the pros constantly and then they deal with the cons in the end. This is irresponsible leadership and will always sink businesses.

When creating a business plan you must always discuss the downturns and have solutions to deal with them. I see in Fitchburg many businesses that open with a Wong ribbon cutting closing their doors shortly after. They want the political photo op only!

The Block Grant funding has failed! Yes, I was denied this funding. I was told that my business plan was great and one of the best they seen. They also stated that they believe that my business is very feasible as it entailed the hirering of multiple employees within a years time. They stated that the only problem that they had is the fact that my name wasn't on property already.

This fact is the main reason why applicants apply for this funding. If I had my name on property then I would recieve funding from local banks. My total debt is $1,000 which I feel is very low. I do not have any car payments as I bought them with cash as they are used.

This funding is often used for the wrong things. Fitchburg has a very poor business sector which this funding is earmarked to address. This funding is given for this purpose. Technically the city has breached its contract as grant funds aret recieved from state and federal grants under request for the cities need to create better businesses.

Recently I have seen a flunked pizza parlor recieve funding to open up shop in a spot that also flunked. It is all on paper with no revenue.

Many businesses within Fitchburg are running on paper instead of actual revenue. They have no customers but they remain open.

I was told that only 25% of these apartments were filled. Do you know if this is correct? If this is fact then either the student population is the same or it actually decreased which is trouble for these new housing buildings.
The empty local apartment houses where just renovated in the last year and now they are empty. These homeowners put a lot of money into these houses. How will they be able to continue to pay there mortgages, taxes and water and sewer bills?
I feel that the City should of evaluated the area and encouraged more home maintenance in this area.
The grafitti is still on the side of the University dorm building. If my brother was still managing these dorms that grafitti would be off instantly. It is the only grafitti in the area.
I want to clean it off but the University police will come after me if I attempt to clean the grafitti. Across the street I clean the grafitti off of the new siding as it looked ghetto.
It is like they don't care. The University did spend alot of money on renovation the dorm and did an awesome job. Then they planted a blue light in front of the building that reflects across all the beutiful columns! It looks like blue spray paint.
I requested for them to put a lower wattage of a bulb so it didn't reflect so obnoxiously and they got stubborn because I made the request. They are like spoiled children.
Who cares if they have this light. It is the reflection. The one at the University gym is half the wattaged and half the reflection.
I watch these parents drop their kids off at the new dorm as they look at the shotgun grafitti on the building and shake their heads.
In ending, I don't mind these parties as long as they end at 1:00Am which they used to. Last year it was 5AM and the University police allowed it because they were too busy watching the blue light!
They spent more money protecting the blue light as they park right across from it. I truly believe that they are waiting for me to break it which isn't going to happen. It doesn't reflect onto my home but in the back through the other affected homes.
I will be honest though. If that light reflected in my windows like it has on the neighbors homes I would have broke it if they didn't fix it upon request.
One neighbor that it affects moved around his entire living rm and put wider shades up and it still shines through. The other neighnor it shines through his entire living rm on the wall like a projection TV. Their is no purpose for this reflection as you can see a blu light from blocks away. It only reflects on a few homes. With a much lower bulb that doesn't reflect you could still see the blue light from the same difference.
What bothers me is the fact that these neighbors have family members that are employees at the University and they fear reprocusion like they seen with us.
