how the hell can she be the mayor when she is already unfit to work! Give me a break!

"She now lives in subsidized housing, and receives Social Security disability payments of about $800 per month"

billybob last time we checked heavy lifting wasn't in the mayor's job description. if she was elected the salary would disqualify her for social security disability payments. and last time i checked, in the US thanks to the ADA the disabled have an equal opportunity to run for political office or apply for a job. that equal opportunity stuff is pretty neat. it helped us have a female asian-american mayor, an african-american governor and an african-american president. you saying a disabled person doesn't have the same rights?

There's a blind governor in NY. A disabled person has every right to run. I'm interested in seeing her resume. That's all it counts.

Bizarre to say the least, this can't be for real. She'd be fighting with everybody in the city and in city hall.

If you don't agree with her you're going to be decapitated. Who's her campaign manager? Laura?

She absolutely has the same rights, but if she can't run a website and stay healthy, then how is she going to deal with the constant stress of running, and trying to resurrect a dying city? I can't wait t see her tax returns from the years she was running the site. Wasn't she also a country music singer or writer?

Wait - so, she's on disability because she's too sick to run her website, but she now runs a different website? WTF?

In my opinion, she is not a serious candidate, but just wants to shake things up. One quote in the article says it all:

"If someone very qualified steps up, I'd be happy to step back and support that person," Rosenfeld said. "I've begged a lot of people to run, but no one has wanted to do it."

Rachel is very good at shaking things up. Unfortunately, if you don't agree with her, she will turn nasty very quickly. Remember Ted, and then Lisa. Can you seriously see her "working" with the City Council?

Maybe, just maybe, we need someone who won't "work" with the council so well. They are the old boys network and will continue to do what they wish. I wouldn't mind seeing someone in the corner office who would not walk the line for them. Perhaps they should be replaced as well.

The local politicians danced around this issue very carefully, they know well what the payback from her can be.

Let's start with asking her for an explanation regarding her ironic screen name of "Really Rachel." Actually, her name is Pat (or something like that). Not sure when she changed it, but that's a great way to make it harder for people to pull up the truth about one's past.

you dumb@$$. she changed her name legally to her jewish name when she converted so she would just have one name. try checking the public records for Worcester probate court in 2006.

anybody remember cassius clay aka muhammed ali? you don't seem to worked up over that one.

have you only had one career in your life? how sad that you're in such a rut.

what's your problem really? that she's a smart woman? sounds like ted talking to himself.

Ah yes, here it is, a posting she herself made on youtube that links her to her former name:

"I had the chance to work with drummer Lanny Boles and guitar player Jim Huckleberry in Nashville early-mid 1980s.... I know they miss McEwen as much as I do....
Rachel Rosenfeld - aka PattyAnne Collins
Fitchburg MA "

Maybe the Sentinel will do its job and find out about her family? Why don't they help take care of her? Why is she so dependent upon us, the taxpayers?

Then it doesn't look like she was trying to hide anything huh? Sounds to me like you either have a problem with the Jewish identity or you have a personal problem with Rachel.

Did she perchance get in your way of occupying the corner office, "Amy?" From what we recall you did that all by yourself.

As far as her disability, she has been disabled for years, crawled up to her feet and worked until she would relapse. That's what a remitting-relapsing disease does. It remits. Then it relapses. Then it remits. From what I hear she had a bad relapse a couple of years ago that put her out of business, she lost her home and lived off her reserves until they were exhausted and it was either be homeless or go into elderly-disabled housing. I see no shame in that, and certainly not a campaign issue.

To hear some of you sleazes talk (or one of you talking to yourself?) it should be a crime to be born with a disease or disability.

Do you pay into social security? When you retire, do you expect to draw out the social security you worked for? Or will you consider that money "the taxpayers trough" even though you paid into it?

As far as "turning", she never endorsed Wong, check the archives of her blog. She didn't endorse anyone. She predicted Wong's shortcomings from the beginning.

I'm betting the one or two who post here under multiple screen names aren't even registered to vote in Fitchburg.

While you're doing all the checking on the internet, why don't you pull up some of her postings and comments over the past 4 years? Ever see her calling anyone a name? Ever see her angry about anything except illegal taxes and back door deals? By all means, let's see you support your statements.

If any of your multiple personalities thinks you can do a better job, why don't you run one - or all - of them. It would make for an interesting primary for sure.

For now, it's early, and she is the best qualified candidate of the two in the race. There's plenty of time to see who crops up.

So is Rachel's disability also to blame for the tax taking on file for her in the early 80s?
