WORCESTER ó An employee of Patís Service Center & Towing was charged today with perjuring himself before a grand jury investigating an alleged Dec. 13 assault at the Shrewsbury Street towing company.
Tommie D. Simone, 29, of 333 Plantation St., Apt. 2L, was arraigned in Central District Court on charges of perjury and misleading a grand jury in connection with his Jan. 12 testimony before a Worcester County grand jury that prosecutors said was looking into the alleged attack.
Assistant District Attorney Terrence M. Reidy said the victim of the assault suffered serious injuries, including fractures of the lower back and upper spine, multiple broken ribs, a concussion, a collapsed lung and head and facial injuries. The prosecutor said the victimís heart stopped beating en route to the hospital, but that emergency medical personnel were able to revive him.
ďThis could have been a homicide if not for the quick action of paramedics and law enforcement officers,Ē Mr. Reidy told Judge Paul L. McGill. No one has yet been charged with the alleged attack, according to Mr. Reidy, who said Mr. Simone was one of a number of employees of the towing company who have been called before the grand jury to testify.
The prosecutor said video surveillance footage obtained from Patís by police and the testimony of others led to a determination that Mr. Simone did not testify truthfully before the grand jury.
Mr. Simoneís lawyer, Gregory Casale, said there was no allegation that his client, a dispatcher at Patís, was involved in the alleged assault. Mr. Casale said Mr. Simone had no prior criminal record and had worked at Patís since he was in high school.
Judge McGill released Mr. Simone on personal recognizance and continued his case to March 6.
A telephone call to Patís seeking comment was referred to lawyer Jon L. Ravelli, who could not be reached.

Someone or many are counting their lucky stars that this EMT brought this guy back to life as it just saved theirs from being spent behind bars.

Attempted murder, mayham and other charges may just equate to life sentences.

I was with the owner of a few large lots downtown one night inside the property owners building when we watched pats pull into the lot and tow my truck and the owners car. A different company had the towing on an on call basis only during the day. after looking back pats was illegally towing vehicles from that lot at night without the building owners approval. After they towed our vehicles that night when we called them they told the building owner that he didnt own the property and they tow there everyday. wpd came and verified that he was the owner and ordered the vehicles back. get those scumbags out of here. They should open a rest area on 290 where we can all piss and shit on their property.

What ouught to be done to these scumbags is someone should reach out to 60 minutes and have them run a sting operation on them. Have a car that needs inspection, clearly reviewed by another repair shop to make sure that the vehicle will pass inspection in the state of Massachusetts and then take it over to Pats for a sticker. When they tell the owner that the car is in need of addtional work, pay them the additional money and continue on their way. Of course under cover cameras and microphones to build the case. Keep doing this for about a month and then call them on it by airing it on the show. I hated these guys when they lived in our neighborhood up in the Burncoat area and reading the stories on the corruption doesn't suprise me one bit. Pat was an ass back then and so were the boys.
