where can we find our city beneath all the filth and noise and dope and ugliness that the foreigners have brought here, where is the beautiful city on the hill where respect for each other and for the schools and our elders were paramount? where did the pretty girls go, all dressed for first day of school, or to attend a football game for the high school? I don't mean the **** we see flashing their flabby breasts and thighs as though they were advertising for a mate to procreate with. Where did the influence go that once was held by the teacher, the policeman and the old man next door? How about the lovely autumn days gone by or the snowy streets, quiet and clean and filled with shoppers laughing and visiting downtown on a Friday night? How about the stores we bought our things from downtown, and how we knew each of the owners, and the good taste in apparel that once we had? Today it is ugliness and sexiness and disrespect every where you go. Go down to Market Basket and watch a family of five shop and clog the aisle, filling their carriages with junk food and goodies for which they have not worked Oh, if only just for one minute I could cross that bridge onto Main street and hear the church bells playing and see the crowded streets as the bus pulls up in front of Miller's clothing to drop off another group of shoppers. Oh, for just one more Christmas shopping period strictly downtown in the old "burgh" free from the incessant traffic and the booming bass notes of ugly music which promotes beating woman and weirdness with anything that moves. One more beautiful Xmas season, with banners of yuletide greeting crossing the streets and the carolers downtown and the cheap but wonderful stuff we bought at Woolworth's or Newberry's. What did we do to our creator to deserve this punishment, this loss of our city and all the beauty that was?

GOODBYE FITCHBURG, WE SHALL NEVER SEE YOUR LIKE AGAIN and goodbye beautiful schools and dances and fun and mixing and morning in the burgh and fresh donuts before school. Hello guns and machetes and dirty rotten people with no respect for their neighbor or their city.

Hey RIP-

From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machete

"As a weapon--
In many tropical countries a machete is a common and ubiquitous tool. Consequently, it is often the weapon of choice for uprisings. The Macheteros, for instance, is a clandestine popular army organization. Boricua Popular Army is the official name of Los Macheteros, which gets its name from the machete wielders of sugar cane fields of yesteryear's Puerto Rico.

A machete may also be classified as a basic sword, because it can be used like one. Machetes were the primary weapon used by the Interahamwe militias in the Rwandan Genocide,[2] as well as the distinctive tool/weapon of the Haitian Tonton Macoute.[3]

In 1762, the Kingdom of Great Britain invaded Cuba in the Battle of Havana, and peasant guerrillas led by Pepe Antonio, a Guanabacoa councilman, used machetes in the defense of the city.[4] The machete was also the most iconic weapon during the independence wars in that country (1868–1898), although it saw limited battlefield use.[5] Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, owner of the sugar refinery La Demajagua near Manzanillo, freed his slaves on 10 October 1868. Armed with machetes, he proceeded to lead them in revolt against the Spanish government.[6] The first cavalry charge using machetes as the primary weapon was carried out on 4 November 1868 by Máximo Gómez, a sergeant born in the Dominican Republic, who later became the General in Chief of the Cuban army.[7] Possibly due to this historical background, machetes inspired a form of martial discipline in Cuba known as "machete fencing", focused as its name puts it, in the best movements and techniques to use machetes as weapons, especially against similarly armed enemies or even firearms.

The machete was (and still is) a common side arm and tool for many ethnic groups in West Africa. Machetes in this role are referenced in Chinua Achebe's Things Fall Apart.[8]"

what do you know? what the heck do you know? why do you immediately assume that these kids were thugs? why do u stereotype so easily? no remorse for them, huh, you quite the ****, please, a fed up citizen, because a car was being blocked? you shoot, and stab 2 kids? really? god, you're so close minded
OK so maybe these kids were not the "thugs" but answer me this. Why was a seventeen year old child out a house party at 4:30 in the morning? Why werent the parents or guardians of this child dragging his butt home? Where it should have been. I do have sympathy for the child that had his life taken away. But I cannot have sympathy for the parents to have allowed for the child to be out at that hour. What I do hope comes out of this sad sad situation it the hope for any other child or children that these parents have to keep them and know everything they are doing. And to see that these children are our future. So here is what I know, This whole thing sucks and if we dont get to know our kids and steer them in the right direction we can and will expect for this sort of horrific crimes to continue. So get up off your BUTTS go give your babies a hug and talk to them. Let them know you care and you are there for them. We asked for them they didnt ask for us.

I saw pictures of the packed courthouse yesterday for the arraignment of the two brothers. All those Hispanics in attendance must have gotten time off from work to attend. Yeah right!

"You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."
Galatians 3:27-29 (NIV)

Can anyone argue with this, the word of GOD? Or will blasphemy reign on this site till GOD smites the unrighteous?

Remember, we are neither white, or black, Puerto Rican, or Dominican, Jew or Greek, but we are all the children of GOD.

Speak not with your vile tongues and wicked minds.

Two of GOD'S Children were taken.

No we are not teachers. We are the educated ones that went to school and learned how to spell and use proper grammar and punctuation. You know the ones that did go to house parties without weapons. And were home at curfew. The ones that had parents that cared where and what their kids were doing. The ones that gave their morals to their kids. That have kids that respect themselves and others. Yes there are families out there that are trying to instill values for the future. By the way, there is not n "O" in talking.

So basically you're implying you will get a good job because you can speak two languages? Give me a break. It's not fair to those who are more qualified but get rejected because they can't speak two languages. I understand the need for affirmative action as to make areas (i.e. schools, work places, etc) more diverse. However, I think it should only be used when both applicants are equally matched in both merit and skills. Not giving preferential treatment to the under skilled worker because he or she can speak "two languages”.
I lived in Fitchburg my whole life and I'm sick of people like these who aren't willing to abide by the rules, respect their elders, and trash the city. Gee, when I went to FHS, most of the trouble makers were Hispanics. When I’m driving home late after work, can you guess what ethnicity of children I see wandering the streets? You guessed it, Hispanics. Don’t get me wrong, I do see white kids out as well. But, you have to admit, the percentage of kids up to no good are more with Hispanics.
Maybe you should stop defending your thug friends and try to better your life by:
1) Graduating high school without getting pregnant
2) Either go to college or get a job
3) Stop thinking society will give you hand outs because you’re a minority
4) Stop hanging out with thugs
I’m not white and I had to pave my way in this society. My parents weren’t on welfare because they believed in working for a living. And no, that wasn’t on $17/hr pay, more like $5/hr. Don’t try to give me this nonsense about these kids not having the resources. It’s about time they take responsibility for their own actions. If they have a conscience, they should be able to tell right from wrong.

Stop talking so much **** about Ronny, Pedro, and Nelson. Because the one's that have all the fault here are the Carrion brothers. They should get LIFE in prison for murders. and not Ronny for defending himself and family.
i think every1 is missing the point...why do these kids have weapons on them and why are they starting crap over a parking spot. i get it that it was wrong to shoot some1, but somebody had to defend themselves here, i think every1 was. so for the family of the deceased to place the blame on the ones who were protecting themselves shouldnt be any diffrent, its okay for ronny to protect his brother but the other carrier brother is totally in the wrong right? nobody is perfect!!! not my family and sure as hell not anyone elses.

I totally agree with you. I do not personally know Orville, but I can say I know Jose. Yes, he is Puerto Rican, but he happens to be a very hard working man. He has not 1 but 2 jobs. Last I knew he was working 40 hrs at Devens and then pulling 2 12 hr shifts Sat. and Sun. in Leominster... Sux that he is looking at doing a $H!TLOAD of time because he did what ANYONE in his shoes would have done- He defended his brother who was being chopped up by a machete wielding PUNK!

Just because there was a house party until late hours that does not mean that their parents didn't care. Did you ever think about how the families must feel?

Well first of all, the Carrions pulled out the gun and knive first, in self defense Ronny got a machete to defend his family and himself. And no, I wouldn't be "choosy" but if my family and I were in danger I would do anything in self defense.

Look Monica, I have some PR in my blood... I have MANY family members who are 100 percent PR... BUT, I will be the first to say that Puerto Rico has a COMPLETELY different way of life than the rest of the country... PR is full of slums, and the majority of people there do not work. Even the ones that do work tend to live in dung holes, because they dont care enough about their surroundings to try to make it better. THEN, the ones who do care come to the mainland to try to make a better life, and again 10 percent bust their asses and do a great job of it. The rest just bring their old ways of life here with them. It didnt work there, and it won't work here!
Morality and common sense go a long way.
Life is not a party, and if you don't raise your children with morals and pride in something other than your old homelands flag, their life will suck and it will be your fault.

Just say whatever you want about being Puerto Rican, because you're not the only one in this country. Many spanish families have morals in their lives and they pass it on to their kids. Life can be party at times, because in life you have to have fun as well as being serious.
