Maybe its about time that the City conjecturally requests emergency State and Federal Assistance in assisting in the situation the City now finds itself in?

Plus requesting emergency Federal Monetary Aid from our Massachusetts Congressional and Senatorial Representatives. To restore the 40-45 Police Officers that the City has lost over the last eight years do to Budget Cuts?

Just a suggestion????

The news doesn't stop for a long weekend......except, of course, if you work for the Sentinel.

The entire story, including names of victims, and those under arrest, is being broadcast on NECN. How much information will there be in tomorrow morning's Sentinel?

This paper really is a dinosaur.

I don't know the details, but my sympathy to the families of the victims.

Excuse me but who is Ronny? I did not see any names published in the article. I hope the FPD checks this for stupid people who may actually have some info. Wow......

First and foremost I'd like to say my heart, and prayers go out to "ALL" families involed. I listened to the events unfold via scanner, and it was terrible to say the least. My heart went out to the Mother(s) imediatly as did my prayers, being a mother of three myself I cannot imagne getting that knock on the door to ask to come and identify my sons life less body. I wonder if any of you thought of this while writting some of the most ignorant comments I've ever seen! Where's the compassion or respect for those that are grieving? With that said, I for one believe we need our Officers brought back full duty. Mrs Wong how can you hire a "deputy chief of police" before bringing our officers back fulltime is beyond me, and "SHAME ON YOU" for that! Maybe thats something the Sentinel & Enterprize should follow up on. Just a thought!

Compassion and respect? There is more shown on these posts than was shown on Mechanic street sunday night. When the toilets that slither through the neighborhoods of this once decent city start showing respect and compassion for each other and the rest of the residents, maybe some will be shown here.

After all the trouble this summer Mayor Wong should have the momentum to take some real action, a first step toward taking back the streets. NO HOUSE PARTIES AFTER 11:00PM.

And to TnJ. Of course no one wants a "knock on the door" about a hurt or dead child, but the first question asked after the knock should be "What was your 17 year old kid doing out at a party at 4:45am?"

I agree, Show some respect for the neighborhood, the people, the dwellings you live in and the laws of the land you inhabit and perhaps I will show you some respect in return. Live like animals, get treated like animals. Live by the sword, die by the sword.....

I'm sorry but I must rant. The cowardly "no snitches" attitude that permeates this city must stop! People have to say enough! Anyone who doesn't report what they see to the authorities is a coward, plain and simple. All the police in the world aren't going to stop crime here without the help of the people. EVERYONE must report illeagal activity. Saying "It's none of my business" or "I don't want to get involved" is just as cowardly as the "no snitches" nonsense. We've had rival families having altercations in front of the courthouse but does anyone tell the police anything? No. Come on people, show some character.

How can you blame the mayor, or some stupid police union complaint? These are grown men who are playing out their rap fantasies. These guys grow up real fast and without adequate supervision or influence and they take their stupidity out on our streets. The problem is that Fitchburg has more of these idiots per square inch than any other city. Once known for it's library and civic center, Fitchburg now leads the way in Heroin quality and numbers of unemployed but collecting benefits.

What really grates me is when the police write in and blame the mayor for not hiring back more cops. Fitchburg cops are not exactly rocket scientists and this is a social problem that no amount of police will ever be able to control. Thanks puerto rico for sending us your great unwashed.

Fitchburg is actually not that bad compared to other cities. Go out and explore, maybe everyone will stop talking so much trash and realize this is a everyday thing around the whole world. It goes for every race too! </p>
To "Habib Hector pablo juan".. Sometimes innocent people do get killed. You prob. would not know because you stay in your little perfect bubble of yours.
(I' am not trying to say these boys are or not, idk but I'am just saying in general)

RIP Nelson && Pedro Luis
Stay strong Ronny.

Who are these innocent people you are talking about?
A party at 4:45 am? Why are seventeen year olds out at that time?
Stephanie, why should the police or anyone else care or use our recources to help these punks who are in race wars?
An intelligent person would have left that house before that fight started and certainly as soon as it did. But no, these idiots love to fight and it is amazing they just happened to have weapons on themselves. HMMMM. Can't remember the last house party I went to that had guest who carry weapons.

Honestly...do the parents care what happens to their children if they don't care where they are in the first place? It's just two more dealers off the streets. The only victims are those who were shot by a stray bullet, otherwise let them kill each other off and make the streets safer for the rest of us.

Oh, and to the sentinelandenterprize.com , it's not "breaking news" if it happened more than 24 hours ago. One of the biggest news stories of the year around here but no, let's have a story about Antonioni (sp) advising college kids to go down town. We also need more front page stories about people playing darts. Finger on the pulse. Can you say "amateur hour"? I guess the paper is a good metaphor for the city, run down, one step behind, and I'm sure out of money.

How come there are never any normal names in the Sentinel, like Rob, John, Peter, Paul, Mike , Dan, Ted? Why is it that I only see names of "color"... Who cares about gun control, better get bullet control. I could easily have stabbed or ran these men over with my car a lot cheaper than it was to shoot them. Just ask TED Kennedy. So in this incident, who was shot? Was it the peoples whose spot was taken or was it the people who parked in said spot? How does adding more cops make the city a safer place? The only reason I go to Fitchburg is for drugs and whores anyways. Maybe buy the occasional stolen rim from Habib. I go to Leominster, to buy high end whores or if i want my dime bag to have better quality stuff.

here we go again, lets wait for all the comments about how they were good kids, blah blah blah,,same shyte, different day.Just another case of scumbags and dirtbags making the news. The only bad news is they didnt kill off a few dozen more of them.More cops wont do a thing to stop this, shutting the borders and eliminating welfare and free housing for these deadbeat turds is the way to rid our country of these rodents.Good riddance scumbags. Now lets wait for all the other dopes to come on here and defend them.
