What we need in this state is a chain gang, you know like they had down south many years ago.Make these punks work from dawn to dusk at hard labor, then maybe they will learn not to steal and destroy other peoples property. We are too easy on the criminal element in this state.( Thats why they keep doing it,.same jerks time after time. When will we learn????

"He was then given three warnings that if he did not stop (kicking) he was going to be pepper sprayed," Bouchard wrote, adding that Martinez then cursed and said, "'Go ahead, you're going to need to.' At this time, a short burst of ... spray was deployed toward Raul, at which point he stopped kicking."

Best part of the whole story. Amazing what a little OC/mace/pepper spray to the face to even the biggest of men.

Is anyone tryly surprised at the $750 bail? This is Massachusetts after all, and we don't really believe in punishing our criminal.s

Let's start taking our local 'tough guy criminals' and drop them off in the toughest section of south-central LA, dorchester, and the bronx. If they make it back to Leominster, they can do whatever they'd like. Something tells me these Poosays would be whimpering in some hidden corner. Right before the real 'street thugs' said HELLO.

Another product of our wonderful Commonwealth of Massachusetts...why should he respect our laws or anyone else's property? He has had everything handed to him via every welfare and benefit you can think of and has had to account for nothing.
Those who don't have to account for anything are dangerous people.

Sorry, Bill. The state isn't responsible for raising this kid. And if he's been wild for the last 4 years that puts his age at that time at 12/13 years old. And what lead him to getting out of control at that age? His mom letting him do what he pleases with no guidance, control, rules, or boundaries.

We know it's easy for people like you to blame the system and "the man" for your issues, but it's all smoke and mirrors. You're to blame. His mom is to blame. He's to blame.

Man up and start taking some responsibility.

To 'bill from leo': Your paragraph is very poory written, and full of mistakes. A third grader could easily do better. Even your name is misspelled !!'Bill' is spelled with a capital B, and while you're at it, you can spell 'leo' with a capital letter, and finish the word, it's only 7 more letters. And meet you '1 on 1'??? Is this an invitation to fight ?? You sound like a fine young man, just like your buddy in the story, who's now in jail, where he definetly belongs.

Many years ago, the State had the infamous Lyman school in Westboro for troubled youth. Not too many
offenders returned to that place once they got their
act together. Yes, they used to have chain gains and
offenders were forced to work hard labor and lived in
barracks style buildings with no A/C in the Summer time.

I think it's time REFORM SCHOOLS are brought back. Even better, put the troublemakers parents in a cell
for the weekend to see what they've got themselves into.

Fact is, out West and down South, chain gangs are still used.

It is not the court system to blame. It is the parents responsibility to raise thier child correctly. You start when they are young. So needless to say she messed it up at some point. I would do anything for my son if he ever acted up and he knows that so he does not act up. Nor will he. He knows that a military school is waiting for him or boot camp. He knows that all I have to do is cloth him and feed him anything other than that he has to earn. Simple. I make it clear.
As for you living with.... I take it you could either a)not afford a place of your own (really get an education then you can make a living) b) you are a boyfriend of said mom (in that case...why did you not help her with this out of control teen or you know that mom should be focusing on raising her childern and not playing around with men....like you and others....) So I do think that your point is moot. As for the 1on1 really you have not grown up at all rather immature and I have better things to do with my time. I do not have a moment to waste on fighting losers.

The parents are to blame, yes he may have been in and out of courts but that would have never happened if he was raised correctly.if a child is raised correctly they do not go in the wrong direction. What this teen did was wrong but martinez being his last name has nothing to do with it..thats just racist and people like those need to grow up as you do too bill for not wanting to blame his mother when he has been her responsibility since the day he was born

I'm with Pat 100%, except for the horible spelling...But his message is on point. Raul is about the warmest hearted/ nicest person I ever met. But everytime his family tosses him into the streets, with no meds, meals or place to sleep... he ends up jumping from friend's house to friend's house, sometimes self-medicating with whatever he can find...and then you get an episode like Monday night. I honestly feel bad for him. I'm sure he's going to loose both his full and part time jobs and then he will have even more strikes against him when he gets out. A real family would have made all the difference with this kid. And child services should be indicted.
