A recent drug raid and murder in Fitchburg are a testament to the ongoing problem of gang-related crime in the city, according to public safety officials and documents filed in federal court.

how about there is no bail; directly to jail it is the only way to stop this madness. they do not deserve our due process system chances are they are not legal anyway. rights, they have no rights if they are here illegally. get them out and get them off our streets.

I hope people can take away from the article just how difficult and dangerous law enforcement of drug dealing and gang violence is. 18 months of hard work yielding 20 arrests...basically one arrest a month. This is not a negative on the officers but a look at how our justice system makes it so difficult to take these people down. Great job and keep up the good work hopefully the courts don't make all your work for nothing.

The people of this town need to start treating it like its a city and not some country bumpkin town...
until then there will always be this problem.... with the feds intown or not the games will be played

Because its a problem that the local cops should be able handle.....
do you understand how embarrassing it is for a police force the "heart of your city" the guys whos suppose to "protect and serve" cant perform there duties.... and always gotta call outside help in....
i can tell the new police cheif is tryna to make some changes for the betta ill pat him on the back for that.... the next step should be to keep his officers off there cell phones and maybe theyll be more observant like police are suppose to be and im sure thatll be a big help.....

It's the weak in the head users that make it possible for the drug dealers to stay in business.
Make the penalty for using drugs more severe,like real heavy fines,and more jail time.
