I always wonder where exactly people are supposed to park if they don't have accessible off-street parking. If you are going to have a winter parking ban in a city you really need to have places for people to park!

lol @ heaviest snow overnight. FYI: this storm is pushing eastward out to sea. While points South of us from the Providence to Boston corridor will get hit pretty hard, Northern Worc County will get a dusting to 3 inches look for all schools to be open tomorrow morning.
Why bother

Why bother if you aren't going to enforce it.
I would LOVE to see them ticket or tow people who DO have a place to park (like at the corner of Warren and Ellis). Never a surprise to see them clogging up Ellis Street during a parking ban.

Just tow the cars! They do it in the college neighborhood, but, in my neighborhood, the same cars sit on the street storm after storm, year after year. Many of these people have driveways, they just own too many vehicles.(One family, two car driveway, 5 vehicles). They know that the city won't enforce the ban, so they just leave the cars out there. The parking ban is a joke!

Not anymore. The city gets a share of each vehicle tow fee from Carstar. Carstar will have extra tow trucks on duty and will sub out if necessary.

Because I live up on a hill, when the roads are snow covered I adjust my route to get to Route 12. This morning, I decided to try Heywood to Canton. There are parts of Canton that are barely passable for one car, let alone 2. You could tell that some of those cars had not moved for a couple of storms, so they are not enforcing the ban everywhere.

You have to notify the police. The police do not drive on every street during their shifts. The city is alot bigger than people realize. They will have the cars towed if notified.

They may do that on the main roads, but not in the neighborhoods. Small, narrow side streets are largely ingnored. The plow operators swing wide around these cars, rather than notify the police.

I don't feel that I should have to call the police during every storm. The same plow operator does our street every time, and he justs shifts the snow away from the parked cars, instead of notifying someone who can do something about it. A complaint from one resident does nothing except get you flagged in the police computer as a chronic complainer. The plow operators are the ones out there, every storm, and know where the same cars will always be parked, ban or no ban. As I said previously, they need to stop catering to the violaters and take care of the streets properly, instead of swinging wide and pushing the snow to the opposite side of the street.

I called the police and asked where I can park.(I have two kids) and they said unless I wanted to walk from Main street, they weren't sure where ... Thats a mile and a half in deep snow... Not gonna happen! If they don't have a solution (one side of street parking only perhaps?) Then how can they enforce it? We have an empty church lot which claims to tow violators who park for non- church functions... Maybe they could help their neighbors out during an emergency? We let them have a cross with the strength of the sun beaming from it at night, afterall....

Yup, next time tell your baby daddy to not be a dummy dump his load on your tummy.

If you had an education you would know less kids or waiting to have kids means a better standard of living. You would own your own house and wouldn’t have to worry about parking.

Find a friend who will follow you to park your car at the garage and give you a ride back.

Maybe don't wait until there is a foot and a half of snow before you start thinking about parking.

If you live close to me you can park in my driveway if you pay me $20 a storm and shovel my driveway after it.

Why is it fair for the church to clog up their parking lot so they can't get it plowed out for the faithful paritioners who want a clean and safe lot for morning mass?

If you cannot take of yourself or your kids then wait until you have everything in place that you will need to do so.

I was on welfare and I know that lifestyle. Most welfare moms need to have a boyfriend and need to get pregnant because they think that is love and they feel that they need to advertise to other welfare moms that they have a "man".

Education will set you free. It has been proven the more education you have the better off you will be.

Being Gay is a sin. Even the sexual part is sinful and unnatural.
