Man charged with disturbing the peace

FITCHBURG -- A Wakefield man was arrested early Friday and charged with disturbing the peace after police say he became confrontational as they investigated who threw an egg at a cruiser on Pearl Street.

At about 1 a.m. Friday, Officer Christopher Cordio was driving on Pearl Street when an object later identified as an egg nearly hit his cruiser.

Cordio, two other Fitchburg police officers and two Fitchburg State University officers knocked on the door of a nearby home. They could hear young people inside having a party but no one answered the door.

Eventually, a young man later identified as Joshua Krepps, 23, of Wakefield, yelled vulgarities at police from inside, saying they do not have to come to the door.

Cordio ended up shouting the name of the man on the building's mailbox and he came to the back door and spoke to them, denying any wrongdoing over the egg.

Police told him he had to have everyone leave the house because their party was creating a ruckus. The resident refused at first, but relented when FSU police said they were taking down his name for breaking the school's "good neighbor" policy.

As people left, police checked IDs to see if any of the party-goers were underaged; two of them were.

Krepps, however, refused to show his ID and allegedly yelled more vulgarities.

Cordio's report said Krepps attempted to leave while screaming. He said Krepps struggled as he was arrested and screamed all the way to the cruiser, kicking the door and windows once inside and yelling during the drive to the station.

In Fitchburg District Court Friday, Krepps was slapped with a $50 fine for disturbing the peace. He has until Oct. 18 to make the payment

It requires 5 cops to respond to an egg thrower?

Back when I was on the force maintainin law and order in Cleghorn I'da slapped this kid silly wit my steel reinforced night stick.

Imagine, throwin an egg at a FPD cruiser. Oh, the humanity! I knew dis would happen when that wacko Thibault-Munoz and her chicken Petition got voted down. My informants tell me these chicken people are violent anarchists intent on taking over this city. Thank God we have courageous Super Cops like Cordio and the other 4 heroes who put down this rebellion

Thanks for this important news. What's your next post going to be about? Grade school students throwing water balloons at each other and then beating candy out of a Pinata with a stick during a birthday party.

In a way I kinda feel bad for the police department. They probably recieived 200 calls, 500 e-mails and 300 letters crying 'There are college kids having a party and I believe they may be armed with an egg!!!'. If the police don't respond they catch shit from the cry baby and if they do respond they still catch shit from the cry baby. It's a no win situation.

I only have binoculars for now but I'm saving up for a camera with bottles and cans that the kids have been leaving behind after the parties.
