That recycling bin is larger than most of the apartments hispanics rent and it comes with its' own Zip Code.

I'm in a small NH city and we've been using this system for about 2 years. It has definitely helped clean up the city as the animals can't get into the cans. I think I read on another thread that someone thought the bins looked terrible. IMO I'd rather see the bins than ripped open trash bags and such on the sides of the streets.
Agreed

The bins look good, and better than seeing the garbage bags strewn about like when you drive through the more depressed areas in the city like lower Cleghorn or the college area.

Maybe the illegals will turn a few bins into lower than low rent housing?

Awww, somebody doesn't like the truth. Maybe they can build a raft out of the bins and float back to whatever hellhole they came from.

One problem is you cant use regular trash bags. So if it is a windy day and after you put your bins out and go to work it may have been blown over and now you are running up and down the street collecting your garbage.
Really

Never heard that being a problem in other towns that use the bins.

On a very windy day it happens all the time. And if the lid is not shut 100% you get a fine and they won't take it away. So I try to figure ok if the lid is half open so you won't take it what do I do next week when the bin is already full?

I can almost guarantee no one has the time or authority to hand out fines for a lid blown open. Yes, for the first couple of months, they may be very strict on not picking up bins thast are not in compliance, but after that (when all the residents are "trained") it will go smoother. Stop worrying about something that probably will never happen. Jeez. Leominster people got notes stuck to their recycle bins if they had any non-recyclables in them, but that didn't go on more than the first couple of months. Relax...this is a good thing for you and the city.
