I saw tha man who lived next door to the burned out building, being interviewed by the Channel 5 News. His own house suffered severe damage. My heart goes out to this man; as he has been displaced as a result of the stupidity of others.
It was especially heart wrenching to hear this man tell the world that the vacant house adjacent to his was being used by vagrants. And, that drug dealing was going on from the house. And, that he had notified the FPD numerous times about the goings on at the house; but nothing was done by them. Needless to say; anyone in living in Fitchburg who has an active drug house near them has gone through some of what this man has gone through: they have notified the FPD and have seen nothing at all happen.
It can't help but to make your blood boil as you witness cop after cop happily doing nothing whatsover at another one of those lucritive paid details. The details that they have plenty of time to work because they average 56 paid days off per year; plus holidays. No wonder the Taxpaying Public receives very little from the PD; they aren't actually on the job long enough to get anything done.

Chuggles, I see you're still barking and chasing cop cars. check out the Police Briefs in today's S&E. Them damn cops! Don't they just suck?

With all of the criminals how can you expect the cops to catch them all and respond to calls? Don't blame the police, blame the criminals. FYI Superman, Batman and Spiderman are not real. There are more criminals than cops and the courts just let them go back out.
I read a post from Lynch about the vacant house that homeless people were living in and he was upset about the fire but if they were there it wasn't vacant and they were not homeless. They caused the fire and put others lives in danger.

I would not break out the pointed hats and the kazoos quite yet; as you pound your chest and praise the effectiveness of the PD in the 4 capers that you bring up.
Sure, it sounds like some good old fashioned police work happened and some real live police initiative was actually used in the case of the homeless man who had a warrant; along with $2500.00 cash; stolen cell phones and drugs; so that one does deserve some praise.
The other three don't amount to a hill of beans. In one, a dude crashed he car and he left his license plate behind; so it was pretty much a no brainer to solve THAT one. In another, a man was busted for hitting his woman. I don't see that as a brilliant piece of police work. Just cops doing what they are paid to do and what goes along with the job. And, in the other, some drunken broad smashed into a house. Again, no brilliant police work required: just show up and arrest the drunken broad.
Again, I will honestly give the blue boy who was responsible for getting the thieving, drug peddling, homeless dude off the street some praise. The rest of it is a whole lot of nothing. No initiative, no fine police work, no "atta boys" given....
