Something is missing from this report. Was the clerk threatened in any way??...or do you normally hand over the money to anyone who asks for it??

Good idea, endanger motorists and civilians in two states in a high speed chase. It probably costed more in gas and property damage than what they stole. Here's another solution, get the footage from the camera and try to identify the theives. If that doesn't work they got away with maybe $100 bucks. Now the cost for damage and injuries will be much more than the register had in it. It's not like they knocked over Fort Knox.

how about follow the law! or should we only pursue those criminals who steal over say $500 or more?

furthermore police officers are trained in pursuit. How about pull over and admit your crime.

Instead of placating the crooks, Support your local Fire, Police, and EMTs!!!!!

There was a helicopter hovering over my neighborhood for a good hour around 11:45am. It just stayed in one place, turning around, and then moved a few feet and turned around again, etc. It was off of Heywood St.

kidding me please don't misunderstand my comment. I'm simply stating that dispatching police departments both local and state including a helicopter to chase two unarmed girls for telling the clerk give me the money seems excesive. I'm an advid supporter of the police but if they were so well trained in pursuit as you stated why are three in the hospital?

And if the cops did just as you suggested then maybe these B!&$#%$ would have tried robbing another store figuring, "Oh this was so easy, lets do it again the FPD won't do anything" and this time some little kid gets hit walking through the parking lot. You don't know what your talking about.

Sounds like you think robbing a small neighborhood store is okay, simply because they asked for the money and did not threaten anyone. These are not just "girls", they are criminals. What would you suggest the police do, get a description and wait for the next robbery????

ummm dispatching both state and local for unarmed girls...first off 40 years old ain't no girl..and officers are not aware if there is a weapon OF ANY SORTS in the vehicle. Protocol was followed. If you don't know how it works...don't spout off.
I commend those officers for doing their job. Thank you Officers Laposta, Deacon and Kilson.
And also those who helped you.

AAA I'm sorry but you don't see my logic. Is it worth putting thousands of innocent peoples lives in danger and send police officers to the hospital because 2 crackheads stole a little money and a snickers bar? These girls seem to be about as sharp as a spoon and would have been found later.

Actually, yes. The proper response for a store clerk when being robbed is to just hand over the cash. Unless you think a human life is worth a few dollars?

Thelma and Louise get the facts before you come on here thinking you know it all, because it's obvious that you don't! I love how people come on here thinking they are and can do better than these trained officers. Here's a fact for ya. You can't train for every situation that you may be involved in!

I'm not the only one who fails to see your "logic". These crackheads are the most most dangerous. The cops did there jobs, the taxpayers got what they paid for. Hopefully the 3 cops are ok

Typical trash in Fitchburg. The cops did their job today. That's it end of story. Hope all officers involved are ok. It's open season on these dirt bags, crack heads and whores. Cleaning up Fitchburg is what these guys are doing and some of you find fault in their tactics? Go to hell all of you who are not behind the PD on this one. Say the car occupants break into your house and hurt or kill you for your cheap wal-mart furniture. You or your family would try and sue the PD because they weren't protecting you. Well done Fitchburg PD I say.
